What I have been loving lately:   1) Google Mail App  So grateful to my son Harrison for turning me onto this app! I had been complaining about my current overload of junk emails, and he told me he used Google Mail and had folders. I downloaded it, and was skeptical at first. I didn’t feel comfortable that I could find everything, but kept playing around with it, and now my life has been changed! Checking email is so simple and quick now! I did “over clean” my inbox, but I’ll be able to retrieve items if I really need them. Harrison always seems to have life changing “hacks” for me! Thanks, bud! 2) Merit Beauty Double Cleanse Face Wash  I stumbled upon this as well as a serum and moisturizer. I LOVE the face wash, like the serum, and feel meh about the moisturizer. The face wash and serum give me a glow. Goodness knows, I could use a good glow. Ha! 3)   BlinkBetter Better Lids Ointment  This stuff is wonderful! I think from Lash Serums or harsh eye make up remov...

Faves Lately

Image
It’s been awhile since I’ve done Faves, but these are all VERY worthy! 1) Old Navy T-shirts  I have lived in these shirts all summer and I’m not even a t-shirt girl! They are $10 each! 2) Gola Classics Women’s Stadium Sneakers   I purchased these from Anthropologie in Edinburgh, Scotland. Wore them all over Scotland and Norway. Love them! 3) Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick   I have really loved these lately. They glide on easily and stay on. 4) Revitalash Volumizing Hair Collection  This one was a surprise to me. Revitalash is for lashes, or so I thought. Someone I follow on IG recommended this collection, so I thought I’d try it. Kinda pricey (but since my ON t-shirts only cost $10…), but man, it actually changes the  texture of my hair. It does make it feel thicker. I am really loving this stuff. Tomorrow I’m celebrating my grandson’s first birthday. Love you Andyroo!!

Current Faves

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted Faves, so I thought I’d post some things I’m liking lately. 1) The Four Seasons  I recently watched this on my flight home from Cabo. The episodes are short, and I finished when I got home, but I LOVED this! Loved it! 2) Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Chouchette  I became a fan of this blush stick a couple of years ago, when my daughter in law told me about it. There are several colors I like, but lately my favorite is Chouchette. It was recommended to me in NYC and I love it! It is kind of $$$ but lasts forever because a little goes a long way. 3) SOJOS Retro Oversized Square Polarized Sunglasses  In contrast to my expensive blush stick, these babies cost about $15. I always wear polarized, and these are just fun! I like that they are lighter and I can see out of them.  4) Amy Bradley Is Missing  Last night my husband hosted poker at our house, so I holed up in the bedroom and watched this 3-part series...

Friday Faves of the week: 1) Aren’t We Lucky by Sarah Forbes Stewart  This book was a bit of a slow burn, no huge twist, but the ending does leave you thinking.  2) Alf the Label  This is an Australian company and I’m kind of obsessed. When the owner started it she wanted a stylish bag to hang from the pram. I bought the bigger pouch and a small one for sunglasses and the super cool carabiner. I LOVE it! I can add more bags if I want. Love putting my purse on my wrist, and the other night at dinner I hooked it around the arm of my chair. She also sent an email to her customers saying that Mother’s Day can be difficult for some people, so reply to the email and she’d take you off the mailing list until after Mother’s Day. I thought that was pretty cool. They have a lot of other bags too, but I fell in love with these. 3) Fit Flop GEN-FF Leather Back Strap Toe Post Sandals  So cute and comfortable. I don’t feel like I’m being a slob when I wear them. 4) Oval Rin...

Friday Faves Cabo Edition

Today I’m in Cabo, traveling with my little Andy for the first time. Doing my Faves while he naps.   1) The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia  I’m not even sure how I found this book, and it seems to be the first one she’s written, but it was SO good! I listened to it and there was a full cast of narrators so it was like a performance. Loved the ending! Thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. 2) happyhappyhouseplant on IG  This is my current favorite account on IG. Her name is Mandi Gubler and she is awesome! I literally do not have one live plant in my house, but I’m obsessed with her and almost feel like I could try one! What I like best about her is that her IG stories aren’t long, and she’s very informative and encouraging. Some people I follow go on and on and tell you every minute of their day. I don’t take the time to listen to those people anymore. Highly recommend @happyhappyhouseplant on IG! 3) Apple Watchband from Quince  I love this silver watchband. I...

Friday Faves

I have been sick all week, but do have some Faves nonetheless! 1) Paradise  I finally drank the Paradise Kool-Aid. Thank you Corinne for being the final nudge! We really enjoyed this series. 2) Tory Burch Sandals  I love these sandals! They are so fun!  3) Plush Lined Eyeglasses Holder  I feel so extra but I love this thing! I saw someone post it on IG that they keep this on their nightstand so I looked it up, it’s super cheap and now I keep it on my nightstand. I was forever setting my glasses down on the lens and scratching them but the little plush lining keeps them safe. Sounds silly maybe, but I love it! 4) Sofia + Sam Lapdesk  Finally, the perfect size Lapdesk! And it’s very smooth. I’m a big fan! Short and sweet today. Have a good weekend!

Finally home and settled from our Australia/New Zealand adventure. My Faves this week were awesome for me while traveling! 1) Power Plug Adapter  We have used many different plug adapters while traveling, but these were the best we have used! With one adapter we were able to charge everything and I could even curl my hair, ha, ha! Highly recommend! These were compatible in Australia/New Zealand, so I’m hopeful to find some for our next travel adventure, 2) Rothy’s Sneakers  I may have posted these before, but I love love love them when traveling. I own two pair and took them both with me.  3) One Step Behind by Lauren North  I listened to this book (and two others) while on this trip. I had never listened to a book by this author, and I really enjoyed the book. Unique plot for sure. 4) Coach Sling Bag  This might be my favorite of all Faves! I purchased this specifically for my trip to wear on tours/excursions, and I loved it! It has two zippered compartm...

Friday Faves

While I did get some random submissions for Faves this week (Larry’s will never happen), I remained on my own. 1) SHOWKOO Luggage Set  I got this luggage set for my upcoming trip (we leave Sunday) because I need to take the carry on and the duffle with me on the plane. I’m trying this duffle in lieu of my usual backpack. I’m excited about it, and hope it’s still a favorite after the trip! 2) Survivor Season 48  While it wasn’t our favorite season premiere, we LOVE Survivor in this house and we love watching it together! 3) Govee Lights  We recently added a bar in our house and my contractor made this light box and used Govee lights. We already have Govee lights around our TV so I was familiar with them and I love them! They can change colors, be put on a timer, etc., all from my phone. There’s a little glitch with this set, so they are going to be replaced, but they still make me squeal every time I walk into the room. 4) Shut the Box Game  My family, as usual...

Friday Faves

Would you believe I forgot Friday Faves last week?? My adult ADD must have kicked in, plus it was Valentine’s Day/Harrison’s birthday. I’m traveling soon, but hopeful to do Faves while I’m gone. TBD. I remembered this week though, so let’s get to it! 1) Oral-B iO Series 5 Electric Toothbrush  I’m obsessed with this toothbrush. I have had many electric toothbrushes, but have always heard, it’s probably bunk, that dentists prefer the round head of the Oral-B for their patients. What I really love is the indicator ring around the top of the toothbrush. It glows green when you’re using the right pressure, red means too rough, and white means not enough. I LOVE this! 2) Little Greek Chicken Skewers Meal  I have been craving this meal on repeat lately. Every time Walt leaves town or has dinner plans, this is my go to. I love every single part of it (but I don’t get the beet that comes with it, blehhhh). Highly recommend. 3) Hisense Frame TV and Etsy Artwork  I got this Frame TV...

Here is what I’m loving this week:   1) Phlur Discovery Set  Remember last week I had perfume layering as a Fave? I wanted to see what other scents in the Phlur line were like. I really like Missing Persons and had heard great things about Father Figure. I didn’t love that one, but I did love Tangerine Boy. This was a great way to try them all, and I’ve almost tried them all. Still loving Missing Persons the best. 2) Skylight Digital Photo Frame  I also have the Nix Digital Photo Frame and I love them both. My family can add photos to it and it’s such a fun surprise to see what they’ve added. Now that I have spent the time working on the settings (so it sleeps at night, etc) I’m truly enjoying it!  3) Motivational Water Bottle  I’m not a Stanley girl or really a water bottle girl at all. I do like this water bottle because I fill it up once and can see where I should be on drinking water during the day. It definitely helps with my water intake. And I always need...

Friday Faves

Today’s Friday Faves are here! 1) Before, Apple TV  This is a departure from my usual miniseries choices, but it is interesting. I have two more episodes (I had hoped to be finished before including it as a Fave). It’s all coming together so hopefully the ending won’t disappoint. 2) Heated Vest  I have purchased heated vests for most of the family, but they are the puffer vest style. I actually bought this fleece one by accident, and because of the lithium battery, I thought it would be hard to return so I kept it for “just in case”. Well, my just in case happened last Saturday. I stuck it in my suitcase on Walt’s urging in case it was cold on our bike tour in Pebble Beach. SO thankful to have this vest as it was freezing on parts of the bike tour! While I do prefer the other style, this was my Fave last Saturday for sure! 3) Perfume Layering  I had never heard of perfume layering. While waiting in the TSA line at DFW, the girl in front of me smelled SO good. I ask...

Currently at Pebble Beach, but still have some Faves for this week.   1) Ember Smart Warming Mug  Hudson and Corinne gave this mug to me for Christmas and I love it! My coffee always gets cold because I’m a slow coffee drinker, and while I don’t love it piping hot, I do like it about 130 degrees. But my favorite part about this mug is that my son thought of it! I just love that he thought I’d love it. 2) Harlan Coben’s Missing You on Netflix  Ironically, I read this book back in 2015, but I didn’t remember it. It was a good series, I enjoyed it! 3) Eagles Live at Sphere  I mean, there’s really not much more to say. It was such a fantastic experience. 4) Little Toot and his Teething Toy  I found this little teething “mitten” on Amazon because Andy loves holding onto things and has been putting his fingers in his mouth. His parents tried it out a few days ago and apparently he LOVES it! I love finding awesome things! Okay, I’m going to go enjoy Pebble Beach. I hop...

Friday Faves from Vegas

Image
In Vegas to see the Eagles at the Sphere. No doubt that will be a Fave next Friday. But, for now, these things are pretty great:   1) The Stepdaughter’s Lie by Teri Terry  This was my first time to “read” this author. She didn’t disappoint. The blurb on the front of the book to hook you in, isn’t exactly the way I saw things, but it was a good book, nevertheless! 2) Poetry for Neanderthals Game  I first experienced this game in Longview at my friends’ house. I couldn’t wait to get it and play it with my family. We had a lot of fun!  3) AirPod Max  I got these for Christmas. I may look ridiculous in them, but I like them for listening to my audiobooks while doing chores. 4) Juror #2  Walt, Corinne, Hudson and I watched this movie in our movie room, and I liked it a lot! Walt, an attorney, had trouble with their legal system in the movie. I believe he said “ridiculous” more than once. I would recommend it. Have a wonderful weekend, and hopefully I’ll have the...

Friday Faves

Friday Faves on a snow day. Happy Birthday to my good friends Kim Morris and Donna Keyes as well!   1) Jesus Listens by Sarah Young  I have committed to reading this beautiful book of prayers daily in 2025. I would like to deepen my prayer life. I love Jesus Calling, and this book is equally as wonderful, each and every day. 2) Kodak Mini 2 Retro Photo Printer  This was a gift for Christmas to me from my daughter and son in law. I love it! My kids know me so well. I love “gadgets” and this is so easy and fun to use. 3) Guanci Stainless Steel Cutting Board & Home Hero Carbon Kitchen Knife  These were my White Elephant “winnings” on Christmas Eve from my sweet niece Nicole (yes, we give good stuff at our White Elephant, my mom couldn’t stand exchanging “tacky” gifts, she didn’t understand the humor in it 😂). I almost didn’t get this. I opened it and it was stolen from me. Luckily, a subsequent gift was stolen from me and I got this back and it was frozen! Everyone...

First Faves of 2025

Image
We’ve rolled into 2025, so far so good, so here are my first Faves! 1) AuroWish Blue Gift Box (Set of 2)  I purchased several of these this year, a little pricey, but saved my sanity for wrapping Christmas gifts! I loved them, and with name stickers still on them will be reusing them next year for the same people! 2) Huckleberry App  This is an app for logging baby’s feedings, naps, diapers, etc. My daughter Hayley uses it for Andy. She had me download it so when Andy is here I can see when nap time and feedings should be, but my FAVORITE part about it is the “sweet spot” for Andy’s nap. I do not know exactly how it’s calculated, but it works!! When his sweet spot is coming up, we put him down and he goes off to sleep with little to no trouble. He’s not over tired, so he’s not fussy at all. I told my niece, who has a baby girl about a six weeks younger than Andy, and she texted us after Christmas to say that her baby girl slept over 8 hours one night, and 1.5 hours the ...
