Friday Faves
Had a wonderful time in Napa and a lot of takeaway Faves! Here are my top 4, but there were many many more, including a great time with our college buds and dear friends!
1) Hotel Yountville First time staying here, but would love to go back! The rooms are awesome as you can see. You can throw the doors open and enjoy the fresh air and bubbling fountain. You can have a glass of wine at the pool fire pit or the fire place near the lobby. It’s walking distance to many stores and restaurants and a convenient drive to some of our favorite wineries.
2) Fortunati Winery I love everything about this place! We’ve watched them grow into their own since our first visit in 2015. I love their wine, all of it! (Even the Port, and I don’t like Port at all.) They might be my favorite winery in Napa. The atmosphere, the people, the pairings during tastings, and of course the wine! The first time we went to this winery, the tasting was in their house/kitchen! The next time it was in a strip center as they were building the beautiful tasting room that stands today.
3) Syrah Soaked Toscano Cheese This was one of the pairings we had at Fortunati. I love this stuff! The guy said he got it from Trader Joe’s so now I have my daughter and her boyfriend on the hunt for it for me. They love going to TJ’s so I told them this would be a fun “date” for them, ha ha!! It is SO good! Fortunati listed out several things to pair with each wine (and offered them up as we got to each). That is so helpful for someone like me who is a total novice when it comes to that kind of stuff, and will help me branch out with some things I didn’t even know existed!
4) Spa at Hotel Yountville This time in Napa we did a lot more golfing (the guys) and spa-ing (the girls) and less tastings. The spa time was wonderful! I got one of the best hot stone massages I’ve ever had, a fantastic facial, and I loved loved loved the private yoga in our room. They didn’t seem to have the sauna, steam room etc., but I rarely use those things anyway. Their pool was beautiful and they have that above mentioned fire pit. There is also a small fitness center and I didn’t realize until the last day that they have a Peloton in it!
So, in writing this, I’m missing Napa and ready to go back! Ha! Have a great weekend!
