Friday Faves

Friday Faves bright and early today! I am giving up “scrolling” Facebook and Instagram from 9 am to 9 pm for Lent, so I need to get this posted before that time. It’s been amazing so far, yesterday I cleaned out our entire bathroom because I didn’t have the distraction of social media.


1) The Housewarming by S.E. Lynes My latest completed book of 2023.  It started off slow, and whiny if I’m being honest, but once we got past Ava’s initial anguish, it was really good! I enjoyed it and did not see the twist coming.

2) Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask I like this stuff a lot! I can’t stand the chapped lip feeling and this stuff really helps!

3) Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion So, funny story…I forgot my lotion on our recent trip to Napa. Three of the guys were headed to the grocery store for supplies and I asked them to pick me up some lotion. 😂 Can you imagine what happened? When they got to the lotion aisle, two of them bolted. The one who was left was frozen and did not know what to choose. He then saw the Aveeno and thought: If it’s good enough for Jennifer Aniston…When he got back to the house I told him I appreciated him taking care of me and choosing the lotion that “intensely nourishes”. I’m not sure he’ll volunteer for such a task going forward, but it was such a funny memory from our trip.

4) HelloFresh Pork Sausage & Pepper Stromboli I selected this meal on a whim, wanting to try something new. My expectations were low because I had never made Stromboli before. This meal was so so good! Even Walt was pleasantly surprised. We were both plate cleaners. Highly recommend this one if you’re a HelloFresh user.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend! Tonight we have friends coming into town and we get to celebrate their anniversary with them (we were at their wedding 34 years ago)! On Sunday I’m excited for my “old movie” marathon which is my thing of 52-things this week.

  While I did get some random submissions for Faves this week (Larry’s will never happen), I remained on my own. 1) SHOWKOO Luggage Set  I got this luggage set for my upcoming trip (we leave Sunday) because I need to take the carry on and the duffle with me on the plane. I’m trying this duffle in lieu of my usual backpack. I’m excited about it, and hope it’s still a favorite after the trip! 2) Survivor Season 48  While it wasn’t our favorite season premiere, we LOVE Survivor in this house and we love watching it together! 3) Govee Lights  We recently added a bar in our house and my contractor made this light box and used Govee lights. We already have Govee lights around our TV so I was familiar with them and I love them! They can change colors, be put on a timer, etc., all from my phone. There’s a little glitch with this set, so they are going to be replaced, but they still make me squeal every time I walk into the room. 4) Shut the Box Game  My family, as usual...

  Finally home and settled from our Australia/New Zealand adventure. My Faves this week were awesome for me while traveling! 1) Power Plug Adapter  We have used many different plug adapters while traveling, but these were the best we have used! With one adapter we were able to charge everything and I could even curl my hair, ha, ha! Highly recommend! These were compatible in Australia/New Zealand, so I’m hopeful to find some for our next travel adventure, 2) Rothy’s Sneakers  I may have posted these before, but I love love love them when traveling. I own two pair and took them both with me.  3) One Step Behind by Lauren North  I listened to this book (and two others) while on this trip. I had never listened to a book by this author, and I really enjoyed the book. Unique plot for sure. 4) Coach Sling Bag  This might be my favorite of all Faves! I purchased this specifically for my trip to wear on tours/excursions, and I loved it! It has two zippered compartm...

Friday Faves Cabo Edition

Today I’m in Cabo, traveling with my little Andy for the first time. Doing my Faves while he naps.   1) The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia  I’m not even sure how I found this book, and it seems to be the first one she’s written, but it was SO good! I listened to it and there was a full cast of narrators so it was like a performance. Loved the ending! Thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. 2) happyhappyhouseplant on IG  This is my current favorite account on IG. Her name is Mandi Gubler and she is awesome! I literally do not have one live plant in my house, but I’m obsessed with her and almost feel like I could try one! What I like best about her is that her IG stories aren’t long, and she’s very informative and encouraging. Some people I follow go on and on and tell you every minute of their day.
