Friday Faves
I was prepared for my Faves this week, thus the early (for me) post!
1) Home Town This is my favorite HGTV show. I love their commitment to restoring their home town of Laurel, Mississippi. As I told my son Harrison, everyone should have someone who looks at them the way Erin looks at her husband Ben. And, while their style isn’t necessarily my style all of the time, I like what they do and why they do it. It’s just so sweet. I kind of want to visit their town.
2) Misread Song Lyric Cups I found these on a website called Meriwether and they are so funny and so true! They have a lot of different songs. I gave one as a gift and the guy just didn’t “get it”. I was disappointed, so I kept the rest. I brought them out last week at Bible Study and they were a big hit! I knew I loved them (both the cups and my Bible Study)!
3) Amour Sweater I got this lightweight sweater online from a shop called Avara. It’s located in Dallas, I’ve just never been in the physical store. I love it and have gotten lots of compliments.
4) True Detective Seasons 1 & 3 Many people are watching True Detective Season 4 which is currently coming out weekly. Walt and I watched the first (strange) episode but realized we’d have to wait to watch further episodes. I remembered Betsy, my stepfather’s wife, had suggested this series to me awhile back. I had downloaded Season 1 for traveling, but never watched it. It aired back in 2014 so I thought, it was too old. I gave it a try when Walt was out of town and devoured it. It was dark, but so interesting. Maybe Matthew McConnaughy’s best work in my opinion. When Walt got back in town we decided to watch Season 3 because I read Season 2 wasn’t very good (but we are still going to try it). We both really enjoyed it. The seasons are stand alone for the most part. There is a reference in Season 3 to Season 1 (briefly) but if you haven’t watched Season 1 you are fine. I recommend 1 & 3, the jury is still out on the others. Thanks Betsy for the recommendation!
Have a great weekend!
