Friday Faves (Nashville Style)

 This week’s Faves all have to do with my recent trip to Nashville. I just got home last night.


1) Anatomy of a Scandal I downloaded this on a whim to watch while on the plane to and from Nashville. It is SO good!! I haven’t looked it up, but I’m almost certain there will be a season 2. Highly recommend this! (It’s on Netflix)

2) Chicken Salad Chick I was first introduced to CSC by Hudson while he was at Auburn. This was even before they had them in Texas. Sooooooo good! I love Chicken Salad and I love Pimento Cheese. One year I asked my friend Kim to give me this for my birthday because she lives closer to it than I do. While in Nashville, Hudson and I had this for lunch one day. Yum!

3) Upholstered Platform Bed I was in Nashville to move Hudson into his new apartment. Nashville will be his home for the next 5-7 years. He needed a new bed and we were on a specific timeline so I found this one on Wayfair, read the reviews and took a chance on it. It was a WIN! It’s very sturdy (this one is a king) and it looks so good! We don’t have the comforter and shams yet, but this bed (and mattress) are awesome!

4) Hudson and Spontaneous Dates When Hudson was in Kindergarten I randomly went up to school and checked him out for the day. He asked me what was wrong.  I said, “Nothing! We are just going to go on a date to DQ!” He has always remembered that day and we’ve been going on spontaneous dates ever since. While in Nashville (yes we ate every meal together), but when deciding on lunch he plugged Chicken Salad Chick into his GPS and tried to catch it before she said “Starting route to Chicken Salad Chick” in an effort to surprise me.  (I did hear her say “Chick” and said, “Chicken Salad Chick????”) I loved he wanted to surprise me. Spontaneous date, a mom and Hudson tradition lives on!

Everything about Nashville is so great! I love the vibe of his new apartment (if the movers ever arrive with the rest of his furniture…). He’s ready to begin his career, let’s go Dr. Holmes!

  While I did get some random submissions for Faves this week (Larry’s will never happen), I remained on my own. 1) SHOWKOO Luggage Set  I got this luggage set for my upcoming trip (we leave Sunday) because I need to take the carry on and the duffle with me on the plane. I’m trying this duffle in lieu of my usual backpack. I’m excited about it, and hope it’s still a favorite after the trip! 2) Survivor Season 48  While it wasn’t our favorite season premiere, we LOVE Survivor in this house and we love watching it together! 3) Govee Lights  We recently added a bar in our house and my contractor made this light box and used Govee lights. We already have Govee lights around our TV so I was familiar with them and I love them! They can change colors, be put on a timer, etc., all from my phone. There’s a little glitch with this set, so they are going to be replaced, but they still make me squeal every time I walk into the room. 4) Shut the Box Game  My family, as usual...

  Finally home and settled from our Australia/New Zealand adventure. My Faves this week were awesome for me while traveling! 1) Power Plug Adapter  We have used many different plug adapters while traveling, but these were the best we have used! With one adapter we were able to charge everything and I could even curl my hair, ha, ha! Highly recommend! These were compatible in Australia/New Zealand, so I’m hopeful to find some for our next travel adventure, 2) Rothy’s Sneakers  I may have posted these before, but I love love love them when traveling. I own two pair and took them both with me.  3) One Step Behind by Lauren North  I listened to this book (and two others) while on this trip. I had never listened to a book by this author, and I really enjoyed the book. Unique plot for sure. 4) Coach Sling Bag  This might be my favorite of all Faves! I purchased this specifically for my trip to wear on tours/excursions, and I loved it! It has two zippered compartm...

Friday Faves Cabo Edition

Today I’m in Cabo, traveling with my little Andy for the first time. Doing my Faves while he naps.   1) The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia  I’m not even sure how I found this book, and it seems to be the first one she’s written, but it was SO good! I listened to it and there was a full cast of narrators so it was like a performance. Loved the ending! Thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. 2) happyhappyhouseplant on IG  This is my current favorite account on IG. Her name is Mandi Gubler and she is awesome! I literally do not have one live plant in my house, but I’m obsessed with her and almost feel like I could try one! What I like best about her is that her IG stories aren’t long, and she’s very informative and encouraging. Some people I follow go on and on and tell you every minute of their day.
