Friday Faves

Good morning! I’m telling you, this no social media from 9 am to 9 pm thing really cuts into my Friday Faves timeliness.

 1) Oura Ring or lug nut as my husband calls it…My friend Lynn told me about this gadget to help understand my sleep at night as well as activity during the day. Another friend, Cynthia, also uses this for wellness incentive points through her job. I have found I use it a lot more for my sleep. I like to know my heart rate and oxygenation levels. It starts notifying me around 8:30-9 that it’s time to power down for sleep. I also find that I try to get a good “grade” so I try to keep to my bedtime and other things to get good sleep. Ha! I still use my Apple Watch for my steps and to close my rings during the day.

2) These girls and this photo These ladies are my Faves to do life and Bible Study with. I love this photo because it represents a fun night where we hosted our (available) adult children for a wine tasting. What I love most is that we were thrown together by chance but each one of us brings a unique “strength” to the group. Our hubbies are my Fave too! Just an awesome group of people.

3) The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein Ok, so I would, under normal circumstances, take a hard pass on this book. But there is a story. Always a story. I was watching Hulu one morning and a commercial for a show called Silicon Valley came on. I glanced at the TV and said to myself: Oh look, it’s Chris Welch! (He was a friend of mine in high school, always performing!) But wait, Chris died in 2013, why is he in a commercial for a TV show? So, I googled him. Found out he was only in the first few episodes when he died of cancer and was written out. I told this to a friend of mine and he said he LOVED Chris’s character in the show. Anyway, I was reading an article about Chris (the first time I saw him onscreen was in a Law & Order so many years ago), and it said he did a lot of Audible narration. I went to my Audible account and searched Chris’s name and there were lot of books he had narrated. Some were YA, there was a John Grisham, and this book. I scooped it up and decided it would be my next “listen”. I never would have chosen the book on my own, took a pass on the movie, but I’m glad I listened. The reviews said the narrator was excellent (he was the dog in the book) and they were right! It was a really good story, read to me by an old friend. I will admit, if I was reading the book I maybe wouldn’t have rushed over to read and see what’s next, but listening was kept my interest. And I even teared up a couple of times. Thank you, Chris!

4) Beautycounter Recovery Sleeping Cream Y’all know I love this. I have told you about it many times. It might truly be my most Fave skincare product of all time! It is currently out of stock and I am quite anxious about this.

Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!
