Wednesday Faves Week 44

Image
Brrrrr! It’s cold here and I kind of love it! 1) I love my new Sneakers , but not nearly as much as the guy at the liquor store. He followed me all around telling me how awesome my shoes were, asking me where I got them because he would love to have a pair. 😳 It’s nice to be complimented so I’ll take it! (Walt loves them, but I think it’s mainly because they are not my fuzzy house slippers) 2) This Shine Cosmetics Lipgloss is great! Perfect color, good consistency and it smells like you are eating cake 😂! 3) My current favorite diffuser scent is this:  Aroma Tech “The Hotel” . It makes the house smell so fresh and good! I’ve gotten to where I just don’t burn candles anymore. 4) Ahhhhhh, my first Homemade Chili of the season. It was YUMMY and perfect timing. My family loves my chili. I do too!  Stay warm! Eat some chili! #happywednesday

Wednesday Faves Week 43

I am making a resolution to work on/expand the blog beyond Faves, but I need to be more consistent with Faves first! Only one more week of Halloween themed Faves, but I love them! 1) I love my This Year Is Boo Sheet cup! Piper Lou did it again! They come up with the most clever sayings and this one sums up 2020 perfectly! 2) This Fave is more of a feeling. I love making our HelloFresh while watching The Voice . It reminds me of homey nights in both Fall and Spring.    I love homey nights! 3) Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion is my all time favorite. It reminds me of my mom, as I remember her using that when I was growing up and she always had/has the softest skin. I may switch to Nivea or Aveeno for awhile, but I always go back to Vaseline Intensive Care.  4) I have had these Jack-O-Lantern Hurricanes for years, and was about to get rid of them because I could never find a good spot for them. When getting out my Halloween decor, I set these on the island and thought: ...

Somehow last week got away from me...but I’m back this week with my Faves. 1) With college football season here, I love this cup ! It’s so true: Some Girls Love Football and Swear at the TV. It’s Me. I’m Some Girls. 😂 2) Isn’t this scrunchie watchband so cute! I saw it on a blog I follow and knew I had to have it. I also have one in solid black and one in an animal print. 3) Oh my goodness, this Kerastase 8Hour Magic Night Serum is amazing. I heard about it on a podcast with LWL’s hairdresser. You put it on at night, on dry hair, and it’s like a serum. I thought: this could be disastrous or gross (funny fact: this is how I spelled groce in high school 😂) but it’s not at all! In the morning your hair feels full and moisturized, but not greasy. I kind of think it’s helping to stretch out my time between washings. As I’ve gotten older I’ve struggled with my hair. This product is actually seeming to help. 4) An oldie, but a goodie right here. Several years ago I bought this Hocus P...

Got some great Faves this week! 1) I have posted the Gold Bond Neck & Chest Firming Cream before, and I have tried lots more expensive neck creams since, and I’ve got to say, I think I like this one the best. The Gold Bond Age Defense is supposed to be for daytime with the SPF, and I don’t know if I like it quite as well. Still testing it out, but I LOVE the purple one! 2) She’s baaaaaccckkkk! I love my little Tapping Witch ! I can’t wait to bring her out every year and “get people”.  She’s motion sensored and taps on the glass when you walk by. This year I had to replace her batteries, but she still works like a charm! 3) We have discovered a new (to us) Mexican food restaurant! During quarantine we had them deliver to us twice, and last week we decided to go into Lalo’s for dinner. From beginning to end, the experience was awesome! Great food, great service! We will be back! 4) I am obsessed with these double walled glasses ! I used them about a year ago for cold drinks becau...

Wednesday Faves Week 38

Image
I’m “out of office” this week, but wanted to send some Faves your way. 1) Pure Grass laundry detergent. A blogger I recently started following recommended this. I couldn’t imagine I wanted my laundry to smell like grass, but this stuff smells really good! 2) I love this little mini chopper . I had the 4 cup one recommended by my friend Holly, but I decided to try this 2 cup one and it’s the perfect size for me! 3) We are all caught up on Yellowstone and needing a new show, so our friend Derek suggested Newsroom . We are only a couple of episodes in, but loving it so far! It’s a drama series, but so many funny lines. 4) This week I am missing this cold roller . My sinuses are killing me. I know a lot of people swear by a different one, but that one has gel in it I think was just too gooey (mine might have been defective). This one is just metal and such a cool refresh. I’m not sure I’ve seen an improvement of wrinkles or eye bags, but it is refreshing! Have a great week, and today...

Wednesday Faves Week 37

Image
Hello hello! Rounded up some Faves for the week. 1) I love these soap dispensers from Urban Ember. I started with the kitchen set, and now I’m putting them in all the bathrooms. I like the foaming hand soaps, but don’t usually love the containers they come in. I am kind of obsessed with these! 2) This . Oh my goodness, I love this pillow cover ! I wanted something bright and textural for the dogs’ room (😂 yes they have their own room), and I found this on Etsy. I’m still working on their room, but I am loving this addition! 3) This fuzzy blanket is really a Fave of Walt’s as well as my housecleaner’s. We always have blankets thrown ever the sofa, and a blogger I follow recommended these. I put them on our sofa this past week, and Walt commented that he really liked them because they were lightweight and soft (he hardly ever comments on our ever changing decor). The next day our house cleaner asked me where I got them because she loved how “not heavy” they were. So I guess my Fav...

Wednesday Faves Week 36

What day is it? Who knows anymore. Maybe I should change my title going forward to Weekly Faves.  1) I love this Glisten Garbage Disposer Cleaner ! It seems to work very well, but it’s so fun to use. 😂 It produces this blue foam that rises from the drain into your sink, think Ghostbusters. I try to use it every couple of months. 2) My daughter told me about this Tula Face Filter Blurry Primer awhile back and I finally got around to trying it. I like it! Thanks Hay! 3) Soma PJs are my favorite! The only brand I’ll wear. Not only are they so cute, but they are also so comfy! 4) I may be a little late to the Urbane Bronze paint game, but this little beauty is going to be making several appearances in my house! Everyone likes white and bright these days, but I still like some darker colors in my home. Y’all stay safe this holiday weekend! #happywednesdayonfriday

Wednesday Faves Week 35

Image
Yes, it’s Thursday. I have been giving myself a little grace this year, which makes it easier to stay the course! 1) I am loving the new Rodan + Fields Brow Defining Boost ! It is easy to use and I am loving the results! I am playing around with the two lightest shades.  2) This Fave is a two-fer! I love, love, love these candleholders and the flameless candles in them. A fun surprise: one day I walked into the kitchen and the candles were flickering. I was home alone and knew I hadn’t turned them on, so I was a little freaked out...then I remembered my friend Elizabeth telling me about the timer feature on the candles. Now, every evening at 5 pm they come on and it’s like a happy Groundhog Day! 3) Ohhhhhh, these rain chains . I have had a complicated relationship with them. When we were redoing our patio, I did NOT want them! At all. Our friend and contractor, Derek, kept after me to please give them a chance. Once they were installed I still was not sold, we had to make some adju...

Wednesday Faves Week 34

Some of my past Faves are still my ultimate favorites (for example, my flameless candles have timers and surprise me every day!) I was, however, able to round up a few! 1) I have been into cleansing balms lately and this Green Clean Balm is my current favorite. It’s gentle and makes your skin feel super refreshed. 2) I love my diffuser and sometimes I want my house to smell just plain good and not essential oily. Enter this Aroma White Tea and Bamboo scent. Yesterday Walt walked through the house and said, “I really like what’s in the diffuser today!” I’m told it may be the scent in Westin Hotels! 3) My friend brought me dinner last night and she brought it in this cutie cute cute travel case. I love it! I’m gonna have to get one and then I’m gonna have to start making dinner for people so I can use the travel case. Thanks Holly! 4) We got new patio chairs ! These seem a little less plush, but they were just what we were looking for! The slimmer profile doesn’t impede the view, a...

Wednesday Faves Week 33

Image
Sneaking in my Wednesday Faves this week. Had a little procedure on Monday and tomorrow is my 32nd Wedding Anniversary, but today, let’s do some Faves. 1) Got a new phone case and I love it! Love the colors! 2) Got a new watch band and I love it! (Clearly I was wanting to change some things up!) 3) I have been seeing the commercials for these Slimfast Keto Fat Bombs and really wanted to try them. I think they are delicious! Walt thought just pretty good.  4) I have been craving iced tea lately and am loving the Gold Peak unsweetened with some Sweet n Low and Lemon. It’s my “treat” when I just cannot drink anymore water. Have a great week everyone, and Happy Anniversary Walty!

Wednesday Faves Week 31

Image
Back to reality...missing Wyoming already! Got some fun Faves this week! 1) I am loving my cute new plant from Modern Garden . I broke my rule of ordering from a Facebook or an Instagram ad, but this time it paid off! Not only is the plant healthy and the pot solid, but their customer service is wonderfu! They shorted me a plant, innocent oversight, and got back to me super quick with a great resolution. 2) I used one of these fanny packs as a crossbody bag while on vacay. My friend borrowed the other one and promptly ordered one for herself while waiting in the airport to return home.  I had seen my neighbor using one everyday when walking her dog and I thought, “Great idea!” It definitely was a great idea!  3) Yes, we drank the Kool-Aid. We are hooked on Yellowstone ! Not gonna lie, we were slow to warm up to it, and I HATED Beth for a long time (still might), but we are two episodes into Season 2, and we are hooked! We had to purchase each season on Amazon, but it ...

Wednesday Faves Week 30

Image
This week’s Faves should be titled: My Amazon Life. Three of my four Faves are straight from Amazon! The fourth was a gift.  1) This dress has been a lifesaver this summer. I saw it on Landyn. It’s super soft and cool. 2) I’m not sure if these sandals are my Faves, but they are the Faves of my family (especially my husband and daughter). They were so tired of my fuzzy quarantine slippers. I’m not sure why, I love my fuzzy slippers! But, I’m slowly, very slowly, going back to normal shoes ever so often. I like these. 3) I have tried several flameless candles lately and haven’t liked the way they looked. Until now. I love these! They are fairly inexpensive and look great! Now, what to do with all the ones I don’t like...hmmm. 4) This phone cover was a birthday gift from my daughter. It came from Target. I like it because it’s cute, I love it because it’s from Hayley. I hope y’all have a GREAT week! Be kind to one another. #happywednesday

Wednesday(ish) Faves Week 29

Image
I’ve been living on quarantine time for so long that it’s Wednesday(ish) Faves now! 😂 1) This is my favorite Face Mask . I love it (never thought I’d love a face mask)! It’s lighter, super cute and I don’t feel like I’m suffocating! I still feel weird walking into places with face coverings, but this mask helps! Thank you, Melissa @thegilded bee! 2) Our July Book Club pick was The Friends We Keep . I really really liked this book! The rest of the Book Club liked the book but did not love it. It’s a departure from the mystery/thriller genre I typically read. It was like therapy for me! 3) Every time I see this little cutie I just smile. Preach, sister! 4) This fan is my summertime, over 50, lifesaver! I keep it in my bathroom and use it while getting ready. I have been know to travel with it.  Have a great week! Stay cool!

Wednesday Faves Week 28

Image
Faves, Faves, Faves! 1) Texas Caviar ! I had been craving this, especially because it’s so hot outside. I couldn’t find my former recipe, but found this one online. It was delicious! Everyone in the house loved it and ate it all up! 2) I love my new shelf we put on the patio!  3) Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story is very entertaining. I LOVED when Meredith Baxter Burney played the lead role (she did crazy well), but this one makes both sides seem troubled.  4) My dove repellent ! We have had doves trying to make nests on our speakers, so I googled how to get rid of them. Apparently, they don’t like shiny. A little aluminum foil and some shiny streamers and they seem to be gone! We took the streamers off the fans and they started coming back, so I put them back up. We look like we are battling aliens!  My descriptions are short this week, I’m pretty busy, but wanted to let ya know what I was diggin’! Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday Faves Week 27

Image
Good morning, July! Wow, can you believe it? Here are my Faves for this week: 1) This cartoon is so relatable. 😂 2) This United States of Football puzzle 🧩 is so much fun! I bought it for my parents and they loved it! While Hudson is in town for a short visit we decided to do the puzzle. We will finish tonight. It’s relatively easy, 500 pieces, but I prefer fun over challenging.  3) I got these for quick outdoor patio/porch dusting . I like to quickly wipe down our lanterns and patio table fairly often and these work great!  4) I love our front yard planter box . At first, I wasn’t so sure about it, but as it’s filled in, I am really liking it! Hope you have a great week!

Wednesday Faves Week 26

Image
As if 2020 hasn’t been the longest year already, I just discovered it has 53 weeks 😩! I took the week off last week, but I’m back! 1) My friend Kim recently suggested I get some Watermelon and it was a GREAT suggestion! I don’t like a lot of fruit so I rarely buy it, but this was so good! My new summertime snack! 2) For Walt’s birthday this year I gave him a Cocktail Smoker . I had seen it on a celebrity house tour. It is so cool! You just put your glass in there (apparently you can put meats and cheeses in there too), turn it on and in less than a minute you have a smoky cocktail! 3) The Housekeeper  was our Book Club pick for June. I liked this book a lot. Disclaimer: I listened to the book, and I’m not sure I would recommend that. The narrator’s voice did not fit the characters at all. This one is better read! 4) My current favorite candle is Coastal Driftwood from Target. It’s light and refreshing! So good! Have a great week!

Wednesday Faves Week 24

Image
I took the week off last week. It seemed like my focus should be elsewhere.  1) I discovered this book,  The Broken Way , after seeing some of Ann Voskamp’s quotes which resonated with me. I haven’t finished the book, but I am super glad I found it. 2) I love my Peace Out bag! I took it to the lake and it got a stain on it, and I’m SO hoping I can get it clean.  3) I thoroughly enjoyed watching Defending Jacob  on Apple TV. I read the book about 8 years ago, and it follows the book quite a bit. While there are some differences, I was satisfied with the ending. 4) This is the favorite piece of art I have. Every time I see it, I still love it! All the other art tries to live up to its standards, but fall short.  Have a blessed day.

Wednesday Faves Week 22

Image
Let’s get right to it this week! 1) Revisions Gentle Cleansing Lotion is my current favorite face cleanser. I love it and it doesn’t dry my face out at all! It doesn’t foam up, but I don’t care. I love it! 2) I ran across this from Ann Voscamp. It was like a lightbulb went off in my brain: wow! It makes so much sense! 3) I could not stop laughing about resetting your password . I actually have a password about a different vegetable and it came about similar to the above dialogue 😂 Am I considered a Senior?! 4) Loving my new Onion Chopper my friend Holly told me about. It chops onions really well, so I tried with eggs ✅, bell pepper ✅, and several other things! Love it! Have a great day everyone! Enjoy the cooler weather. I have heard from my husband that this may be the last cool day until October. 😂

Wednesday Faves Week 21

Image
Happy Wednesday! So, last week I meant to post a different skinbetter face product as my Fave 🤪 it’s called Alto Defense Serum . I have three skinbetter products and I LOVE THEM ALL! So thankful my friends Beth and Kathy introduced me to them!  Now onto this week! Hopefully I can get it right! Oh well, at least I love everything I post (when I post it). 1) Pureology 21 Colour Fanatic is awesome! My hairdresser sold it to me a LONG time ago. I used it once and did not like it! During the quarantine/stay-at-home, my hair was feeling dry so I got this back out to try and hydrate my hair (I figured if I still hated the stuff it didn’t really matter because I wasn’t going anywhere). But I love it!! It makes my hair feel hydrated and thicker. 2) I use chapstick everyday and I feel like I’ve tried them all. This Natural Ice Cherry is the only one I use. I keep them all over the house. 3) We call this The Big Ass Hand 🖐 and it makes me smile whenever I look at it....

Wednesday Faves Week 20

Image
Well, Texas is opening up again. Have y’all been out? I’m in no rush. I did have a hair appt yesterday. It seemed weird, but I guess weird is the new normal. 1) From the same line as my sunscreen, I am loving this AlphaRet Overnight Cream . I put it on at night in place of toner, serum and moisturizer. Love that my nighttime routine is quicker, and love how it makes my face feel! 2) I like this Glamorous Wash for my clothes and sheets, but a little goes a long way! At first I was using it in every load, but now I skip around. I use it mainly on towels and sheets. 3) While social distancing at my parents’ house, my mom showed me this book, Peace in His Presence , her friend gave to her. I’m obsessed with it. I ordered a copy for myself and can’t wait til it arrives. It’s a beautiful book with favorite quotations from Jesus Calling.  4) My friend Erin recommended this Epoch Sole Solution to me and it has worked miracles on my feet! It’s the best foot cream I have ever used...

Wednesday Faves Week 19

Image
We have made it through another week of quarantine, how is everyone doing? I just don’t know how I feel about reentering the world. It feels strange... 1) First up is my favorite quarantine nail color: Zoya Sabrina . It is very forgiving to someone who isn’t very good at painting her own nails. 🤪 2)  @thelesliejordan is SO funny on Instagram. “Well, shit. How my fellow hunker downers doing?” He talks about the most random stuff, and he’s so cute and endearing! 3) Got a new Bosch dishwasher this week. Love it! We had Bosch dishwashers at our old house and were really pleased, so when we needed to replace ours here, we decided to go back to Bosch. The only issue I have is that I need to figure where the dry setting is.  4) This skinbetter Sunscreen is so cool! It’s like a compact, 68 SPF, and the color seems to work on all skin tones. I love it! I have been using it daily as my foundation, but apparently it’s buildable. Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday Faves Week 18

Image
Good morning! The sun is shining and Texas is going to start to slowly reopen on Friday. Not sure how I feel about that, but I feel GREAT about my Faves this week! 1) These lanterns and flameless candles . I had the lanterns inside at my old house and never really liked them all that much. When we moved I brought them to see if I could find a place for them. They look awesome on our patio and my friend Holly suggested flameless candles. I love them! They are on a remote so they are SO easy to use. Even Walt turned them on the other night. 2) I recently started using this AlphaRet Overnight Cream and I kind of love it! It’s pricey, but it takes the place of three products I was using at night which also makes my nighttime routine quicker! Win/win! 3) Let me introduce y’all to my new boyfriend. His name is Mr. Clean and he has this Magic Eraser that is out of this world! I have had this lying around for literally years, but wasn’t sure how to use it. My friend Donna was telling ...

Wednesday Faves Week 17

Image
So, I skipped Week 16. I forgot about it. 🤪 I remembered this week! Yippee, it’s the little things! Speaking of little things, my Faves aren’t over the top this week, but they are what I see in my rather small environment. 1) I love my doggies’ collars ! I trade them out seasonally and get all of them from a shop on Etsy. I love these bright springy collars (but my true favorites are their Baylor and Auburn collars)! 2) Fun game alert! Can You Roll Doubles was super fun! PS. I am sorry about what I may have said in the heat of the competition 😊 I meant no disrespect. I love you all! 3) My phone’s screen protector ! I am quite vigilant about keeping a protector on my phone for times like this! The two white dots are chips in the protector and there are two huge cracks running through it from a nasty fall my phone took a couple of days ago. The protector was damaged, the phone not a scratch!  4) I love this sunglasses holder ! It’s fun and houses my slightly over the top...

Wednesday Faves Week 15

Image
How’s everyone doing? Hanging in there?  1) He’ll probably die if someone tells him he’s one of my Faves. I thought I’d use an old photo of where it all began. My friend Stan is truly a Fave of mine. We met in college and he was instrumental in getting Walt and me together. We give each other HELL, but he has been such a good friend to us and “uncle” to our children. He’s an ER doc and is serving on the front lines. If that’s not enough, he has taken some time to advise us and research for us regarding some very serious health issues my mother is having. Thank you for always being there for us, Stan. Don’t get a big head that I’m actually saying nice things about you! 😉 2) Do you feel like it’s Groundhog Day because, once again, YouTube is a part of my Faves? You can find ANYTHING on YouTube. And what I love most is that YouTube gets to know you and starts recommending things that will interest you. Did you know you can go on a virtual hike through the Redwood Forest? I to...

Wednesday Faves Week 14

Image
Good morning. 🤔Yes, it is a good morning. I had to remind myself that this morning as I woke up rather cranky. There are definitely ebbs and flows to this quarantine thing. Here are my Faves for this week. 1) Of all the funny sayings, quotes, etc during this time, this one is my Fave because it is 100% accurate for me 😂I have not bought one roll of toilet paper during this time because I always keep a surplus on hand, but I am stretching out, errrrr rationing, what we have!  2) Y’all know I love my YouTube. Week after week it is a part of my Faves! This week, I am loving this  Relaxing Meditation Music . My friends (on FaceTime and Marco Polo) poke fun at me, but a couple of them have started listening! I always have the TV on, and now, if I’m not sitting and watching a show I’ll turn this on. The scenery is beautiful and the music is motivating! And now, when we go to sleep, I turn this on instead of a show. Zzzzzzz. 3) Loving the Houseparty App ! Had a super fun c...

Wednesday Faves Week 13

Image
It will probably come as no surprise that my Faves are all about TV,  since that what else do we have to do under house arrest 🤪? 1) American Idol is so good this year! I honestly haven’t watched for the past couple of years because Katy Perry drives me crazy (although I think she has some of the prettiest eyes I’ve ever seen). But I decided to watch because a couple of my high school buddies, Holly and Cynthia, were watching. There is SO much talent and the  judges have kind of settled down. You can catch up on the current season on Hulu. Unfortunately, we have one more week before they go live so I’m sure it will be postponed for a bit. 2) Little Fires Everywhere is interesting. It’s also on Hulu. I didn’t read the book, and I’m not crazy about Kerry Washington’s character, but I kind of want to see where it goes.  3) I recently got these Coasters from Amazon, and I LOVE them! They look cool and they don’t stick to your glasses.  4) As y’all know, I have...

Wednesday Faves Week 12

Image
Well, here we are in our first week of social distancing, and while it’s been a weird week, of course I still found some good things! 1) The perfect social distancing lunch: Grilled Havarti Cheese Sandwich and Cheetos ! And yes, the hand sanitizer is in the photo on purpose. No licking your Cheeto fingers during this time, Walt, but just in case you can’t help yourself, SANITIZE before you eat. I make great grilled cheese sandwiches and my secret is the Havarti cheese. So now you know... 2) I love leopard print. A lot. This Leopard Print Pattern is my favorite for home decorating. I have these pillows in many rooms in the house. 3) You know I recently became a fan of YouTube. While waiting for The Viall Files Bachelor Finale Part 2 Podcast to post, I stumbled upon AD Open Door series. Architectural Digest visits celebrities’ homes and the celebrity takes you on the tour. The tours are about 10 minutes long and I’m obsessed! I love seeing how people live! 4) The book I’m curr...

Wednesday Faves Week 11

Image
Coming to you on a day with the sun actually shining! Woo Hoo!  1) Yes, I drank the Kool Aid. My daughter Hayley got me to watch an episode of The Bachelor this season and I got hooked! I only watched three episodes in total but Madison is my favorite! She is so well spoken and has it altogether. War Eagle! She stood up to Barb! War Damn Eagle! Actually, Madison and Peter are my favorites. I’m rooting for them! I feel like people were hard on Peter for being wishy washy and so emotional.  While I do feel Hannah Ann justified in her feelings, she will be fine! Clearly! Now if they can just keep Peter’s family out of their heads, Madison and Peter May have a shot! 2) This Fave might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed I Am A Killer Seasons 1 and 2 . Basically, it’s interviews with Death Row inmates. Hayley thought it was boring, and my husband thought it was depressingly awful. I found it to be interesting. 3) I love my Keurig ! I’ve had several in the past, but this ...

Wednesday Faves Week 10

Image
Why do we seem to have gloomy weather on Wednesdays? Good thing I can still find some bright Faves! 1) I found this Big Happy Planner on Amazon. I usually do my “planning” on my phone, but I wanted to try this one. Sometimes when I write things down and cross them off I’m more productive. I’m only a few days in, but I’m really liking it so far! 2) Truth Be Told is a series I just finished on Apple TV. I really enjoyed it. It is about a true crime podcaster (Octavia Spencer) who wants to get to the truth about someone she helped put in prison many years ago. It gets into a lot of family secrets and drama, I enjoyed watching this one. 3) These Fuzzy Slippers are just 😍! I love them! They are true conversation starters, and just so cute! And yes, I have been know to wear them in public. Thank you for asking! 4) Hello Fresh is just so many things: yummy, easy, convenient, dependable, great customer service, etc. etc. The last two dinners I made, Firecracker Meatballs and Crispy...

Wednesday Faves Week 9

Image
Good morning! Got off to a little slower start this morning, but here  we go! 1) My most favorite Fave in a long time is Curt Jones ! I really don’t watch American Idol anymore because of, well, you know...it’s just different now. Anyway, there wasn’t much on Sunday night, so we watched. If you can find their audition/story online, go watch! His wife had been battling a pill addiction and he stuck with her. She’s been sober for a year and they decided to audition for Idol together. She made it, but he did not. He was SO truly happy for her and the way he carried himself both through her addiction and through her “ticket to Hollywood” makes this guy my Fave! You are my American Idol, Curt Jones! 2) Rodan & Fields Redefine line . I used this for a couple of years, but needed a change. I think I received more compliments on my skin during that time than any other. Recently, I decided to pull it back out and try using it again. I am LOVING it! My face feels so soft and I thin...

Wednesday Faves Week 8

Image
Since I will be “out of office” on Wednesday, I’m technically doing my Faves on Tuesday night so I can publish on time. Here we go! 1) My new weird obsession is The Viall Files . Not only do I not typically follow the Bachelor, but I almost never watch YouTube videos. My daughter Hayley got me interested in the current Bachelor season (War Eagle, Madison), and last time I spent the night with her she pulled up Nick Viall’s sort of Bachelor podcast on YouTube on her TV. I’m not sure why, but I really liked his podcast, and I really enjoyed watching the podcast rather than just listening. Not all podcasts are on YouTube, but I’m now searching for more that are! 2) I love traveling with backpacks! This travel backpack is making its maiden voyage this week. It’s a super fun color and a little more sturdy than my previous backpack. Hopefully it continues to be a Fave after the trip is over! 🤪 3) The Path Made Clear is a compilation book based upon Oprah’s SuperSoulSunday intervie...

Wednesday Faves Week 7

Image
Rain rain go away! I’m tired of muddy dog paws all day! (It’s a good thing the dogs are so cute!) But Wednesday Faves must go on... 1) Apple TV is awesome! Thank you Dianna for hounding me about it! 🤪It has a ton of great shows and movies and I love that I can download some things on my iPad to take on my trip next week. I thought I had to go and buy the device, but it’s an app. And it works with our Roku on our TVs. You can try it for free, but I am going to subscribe. 2) The Morning Show is the reason I got Apple TV! It was SO good! I blew threw it in one day, of course nothing else got done...😂I never rewatch series, but I may rewatch this one. It’s that good and I want to be sure I caught everything. 3) These Light Remotes have been on my Faves’ list before, but honestly, they are my Faves every single day. I use these for my “5 PM” lights in the entry, study and dining room. I have a different light remote set that we use in the family room, and while I love that one, T...

Wednesday Faves Week 6

Good morning! It’s time for Wednesday Faves. It’s cold, rainy and sleety here. These Faves are all good for being stuck inside! 1) This  Phone/Tablet Stand is awesome! It’s very heavy so no tipping. I use it for hands free FaceTiming, Marco Poloing, cooking, listening to audio books, etc. It’s awesome! I highly recommend it. Even my daughter is kind of envious of it. 2) Jesus Calling consistently amazes me. I use the app, although it is a daily devotion book as well. It’s been around for a long time, and I’m sure most of you have heard of it and even read it daily. It always meets me where I am! I don’t know why I let myself fall out of the habit.  3) Modern Love ❤️ on Amazon Prime has been out for awhile, and I devoured it! I am reminded of it with Valentines Day right around the corner. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you watch, please share with me your favorite story.  4) This Dreamy Essential Oil blend is my current go to for our bedtime diffuser...

Wednesday Faves Week 5

Another week, another round of Faves. I love these Faves a LOT, by the way.  1) I love these  Buxom Power-full Lip Balms ! They are great on days when I’m not wearing make up. Apparently they adjust with your natural skin and lip color...I don’t really feel like they are “plumping”, but maybe?! I like the consistency and that they give my lips a little color on casual days! 2) This is my second go round with Aveda’s Damage Remedy . The first time I tried it on the recommendation of my hair stylist and didn’t like it. It recently came in my FabFitFun box and my friend Dianna said she loved this stuff so I decided to try again. I used it differently, instead of (as opposed to “in addition to”) another product and I loved it!! I have a tendency to try something once and give up instead of working with it a little bit, and I think I may be missing out on some seriously great stuff! 3) This cute little table brings me joy every morning. We have an adjustable bed, and it’s v...

Wednesday Faves Week 4

Good morning! Got some Wednesday Faves to share with you today.    1) CraftWay Kitchen , I love this place! I have been there twice now, and while I have to admit, the food was better the first time, it was really good both times. Even more impressive than the food, is the customer service! Both times they did something a little special, above and beyond. The first time we had trouble deciding on an appetizer, we finally picked fried asparagus. Delish. The server brought out a tasting of the two we didn’t choose “on her”. Then, my husband ordered a beer, but they had to change out the tap so they brought him another one to sample while he waited.  This past Friday it was super crowded, but halfway through my Pineapple martini the server, unsolicited, brought a frozen empty glass and put the rest of my drink in it so it would be cold til the very end. Very impressive customer service! Very cool place. 2) I Should Have Known That! is a fun trivia game. You don’t have ...

Wednesday Faves Week 3

Good morning! This is a wet with fog kind of day. It’s kind of gross (interesting side note: I spelled gross “groce” in high school until a boyfriend made fun of me and corrected me 🤪) My Faves are a bit random, but nevertheless great this week! 1) Last year for Christmas (as in 2018), Walt got this Nixplay Digital Photo Frame as a gift from his coworkers. I highjacked it and I LOVE IT! My favorite thing about is that my kids, husband, anyone really, can send photos directly to the frame. It’s like little surprises ever so often.  They just have to have the log in info. It’s also super easy to change the photos as the seasons change. It’s a happy maker!! 2) SuperSoulSunday has become one of my favorite shows! I watch it almost every Sunday. Oprah interviews different people and it just feeds my soul! Sometimes I take notes. It’s just so good and I love listening to other’s perspectives. 3) Y’all know I’m crazy for diffusers and this may be my most favorite one yet. ...

Wednesday Faves Week 2

Two weeks in a row AND on time. Hopefully this “winning at life” streak will continue, ha ha! Hey, it’s the little things... 1) I got a new door hanger. Hi. I saw this online and just loved it! It’s so cute and whimsical. I ordered it when I was looking for a Christmas door hanger and couldn’t wait for the holidays to be over so I could put it out. 2) Ready to Love is a dating show “featuring successful black men and women in their 30s and 40s as they go through the steps of courtship” in the Atlanta area. It is on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). It is hosted by Nephew Tommy, who I’ve learned is Steve Harvey’s nephew. I kept seeing advertisements for it so I began watching and devouring Season 2. Then I watched the entire Season 1. I’ve never really been a Bachelor/Bachelorette watcher, but I could not get enough of Ready to Love. The only thing I found disappointing (other than the success rate is about that of the Bachelor) is after following several of them on Instagram, I...
