Wednesday Faves Week 2

Two weeks in a row AND on time. Hopefully this “winning at life” streak will continue, ha ha! Hey, it’s the little things...

1) I got a new door hanger. Hi. I saw this online and just loved it! It’s so cute and whimsical. I ordered it when I was looking for a Christmas door hanger and couldn’t wait for the holidays to be over so I could put it out.

2) Ready to Love is a dating show “featuring successful black men and women in their 30s and 40s as they go through the steps of courtship” in the Atlanta area. It is on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). It is hosted by Nephew Tommy, who I’ve learned is Steve Harvey’s nephew. I kept seeing advertisements for it so I began watching and devouring Season 2. Then I watched the entire Season 1. I’ve never really been a Bachelor/Bachelorette watcher, but I could not get enough of Ready to Love. The only thing I found disappointing (other than the success rate is about that of the Bachelor) is after following several of them on Instagram, I believe they are aspiring actors and entertainers :/ and some of them seem very different than they appeared on the show. I guess that’s reality television! Very entertaining if you don’t take it too seriously.

3) This fire table is love, love, love. I wanted a fire 🔥 feature on our patio, but didn’t really want a fire pit, and couldn’t settle on anything built in. I love this fire table! We had a spontaneous patio dinner with friends and family over the holidays and I’m in love! I can’t wait to have a repeat. I purchased both chairs and benches to use around the table and I have to say: for dining I prefer the benches, for relaxing with a glass of wine, the chairs work pretty well.

4) A step-ladder may seem like an odd fave, but this one rocks! It’s very sturdy and I feel super steady on the top step. I didn’t even have to pull out the big ladder when taking down the Christmas tree this year. I use it at least once a week and even bought one for my daughter to keep at her apartment (secretly, so I could use it when I’m there decorating, ha!) This step-ladder is a household must!

I hope everyone has a great week. So many people are sick. That’s no bueno. My husband has been sick all week and two of my friends with birthdays this Friday are sick. 😷 Everyone needs to feel better! Happy Wednesday!

  While I did get some random submissions for Faves this week (Larry’s will never happen), I remained on my own. 1) SHOWKOO Luggage Set  I got this luggage set for my upcoming trip (we leave Sunday) because I need to take the carry on and the duffle with me on the plane. I’m trying this duffle in lieu of my usual backpack. I’m excited about it, and hope it’s still a favorite after the trip! 2) Survivor Season 48  While it wasn’t our favorite season premiere, we LOVE Survivor in this house and we love watching it together! 3) Govee Lights  We recently added a bar in our house and my contractor made this light box and used Govee lights. We already have Govee lights around our TV so I was familiar with them and I love them! They can change colors, be put on a timer, etc., all from my phone. There’s a little glitch with this set, so they are going to be replaced, but they still make me squeal every time I walk into the room. 4) Shut the Box Game  My family, as usual...

  Finally home and settled from our Australia/New Zealand adventure. My Faves this week were awesome for me while traveling! 1) Power Plug Adapter  We have used many different plug adapters while traveling, but these were the best we have used! With one adapter we were able to charge everything and I could even curl my hair, ha, ha! Highly recommend! These were compatible in Australia/New Zealand, so I’m hopeful to find some for our next travel adventure, 2) Rothy’s Sneakers  I may have posted these before, but I love love love them when traveling. I own two pair and took them both with me.  3) One Step Behind by Lauren North  I listened to this book (and two others) while on this trip. I had never listened to a book by this author, and I really enjoyed the book. Unique plot for sure. 4) Coach Sling Bag  This might be my favorite of all Faves! I purchased this specifically for my trip to wear on tours/excursions, and I loved it! It has two zippered compartm...

Friday Faves Cabo Edition

Today I’m in Cabo, traveling with my little Andy for the first time. Doing my Faves while he naps.   1) The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia  I’m not even sure how I found this book, and it seems to be the first one she’s written, but it was SO good! I listened to it and there was a full cast of narrators so it was like a performance. Loved the ending! Thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. 2) happyhappyhouseplant on IG  This is my current favorite account on IG. Her name is Mandi Gubler and she is awesome! I literally do not have one live plant in my house, but I’m obsessed with her and almost feel like I could try one! What I like best about her is that her IG stories aren’t long, and she’s very informative and encouraging. Some people I follow go on and on and tell you every minute of their day.
