It's Here! It's Here!

So, I'm finally doing it!  Welcome to The Candee Dish!  After overwhelming encouragement from my friend, Kim Morris, as well as my hubby and a couple of besties, I am launching this blog!  The site is still under construction, and I have SO much to learn about blogging and blog sites, but I knew if I didn't just start, if I waited for everything to be perfect, it would never happen.  If you choose to follow along with me, please be patient.  Ha, ha! 

I felt like it was only fitting to begin on the first Wednesday of 2018 with my Wednesday Faves!  I love them, you love them, and it's DEFINITELY a subject I'm comfortable with!  So here we go!


1) I love New Year's because social media is filled with encouragement, inspiration, and ideas for a fresh start!  There are so many I could have chosen, but this one is succinct and spot on!  I love it!!  
2) I really like these free printable calendar pages.  I have a planner but don't really like the monthly pages that come with it, so I like to print my own.  This year I'm trying a vertical monthly.  It looks so clean and tidy I think I'm going to love it.  Last year, I did a horizontal monthly.  While I liked it a lot, I hated having to turn the planner sideways to write.  We'll see how this one works out.
3) My bestie, Kim, gave me a "Blogger's box" for Christmas this year.  It included everything I needed to start blogging (hint, hint).  She even printed off a bunch of blank forms to get me going!  Be careful what you wish for, Kim!
4) While I love, love, love, my remote controlled lamp plugs (they were my most fave thing of 2017 I believe), I think I love these equally as much!  They sync with my phone and my Alexa.  I can turn on my lights before I get home!  We can ask Alexa to turn them on and off for us! I think all the single ladies need these!  I think everyone needs these!  The ones I got were so easy to install, and after downloading the Smart Life app, syncing was a breeze!

      Thank you, Laurie! My husband and I were just discussing the possibility of going back to Kenya in 2018. Who knows?! I love to write, and I love to show people my great finds, so I'm hopeful this blog will be entertaining and a little helpful! We'll see how it goes...

    Yeah,not gonna lie. Your Wednesday favs are alwaysa must read for me. You write so well and often articulate something that I was already thinking about! I am looking forward to your new blog. And don't worry about perfection -"real" beats "perfect" any day of the week!

  While I did get some random submissions for Faves this week (Larry’s will never happen), I remained on my own. 1) SHOWKOO Luggage Set  I got this luggage set for my upcoming trip (we leave Sunday) because I need to take the carry on and the duffle with me on the plane. I’m trying this duffle in lieu of my usual backpack.   Finally home and settled from our Australia/New Zealand adventure. My Faves this week were awesome for me while traveling! 1) Power Plug Adapter  We have used many different plug adapters while traveling, but these were the best we have used! With one adapter we were able to charge everything and I could even curl my hair, ha, ha! Highly recommend! These were compatible in Australia/New Zealand, so I’m hopeful to find some for our next travel adventure, 2) Rothy’s Sneakers  I may have posted these before, but I love love love them when traveling. I own two pair and took them both with me.  3) One Step Behind by Lauren North  I listened to this book (and two others) while on this trip. I had never listened to a book by this author, and I really enjoyed the book. Unique plot for sure. 4) Coach Sling Bag  This might be my favorite of all Faves! I purchased this specifically for my trip to wear on tours/excursions, and I loved it! It has two zippered compartm...

Friday Faves Cabo Edition

Today I’m in Cabo, traveling with my little Andy for the first time. Doing my Faves while he naps.   1) The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia  I’m not even sure how I found this book, and it seems to be the first one she’s written, but it was SO good! I listened to it and there was a full cast of narrators so it was like a performance. Loved the ending! Thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. 2) happyhappyhouseplant on IG  This is my current favorite account on IG. Her name is Mandi Gubler and she is awesome! I literally do not have one live plant in my house, but I’m obsessed with her and almost feel like I could try one! What I like best about her is that her IG stories aren’t long, and she’s very informative and encouraging. Some people I follow go on and on and tell you every minute of their day.
