Last Faves of 2022

Image
Here we are at the end of 2022. I can hardly believe it. I was going to do a wrap up of my fave Faves of 2022, and I still might, but I have some new Faves this week instead.   1) The Midnight Library This book was recommended to me when I was speaking about “regrets” in my life. Who knew a fiction novel could be like therapy! I haven’t finished it yet, but have had a couple of breakthroughs, if you will. I am enjoying this book, although I will say I’m listening on Audible and the person reading the book’s voice is a bit off-putting. Ha! 2) Rothy’s Utility Boots I got these for Christmas and I love them! I plan on wearing them tonight for the first time, but they seem like they are going to be super comfortable and they are easy to put on which is a plus! 3) Energel Liquid Gel Pens 0.7 These are my favorite pens! Hands down. Being left handed, I can’t write with most gel pens as they either skip or smear. These are awesome! 4) Pull Out Cabinet Drawer Organizer I bought these almos...

Friday Faves I’m SO EXCITED to show!

Image
I have been so excited about these Faves all week! Couldn’t wait for Friday to get here! 1) Purriko Refrigerator Deodorizer Although it’s labeled for the refrigerator, it’s so much more! I have been on a quest to find something to eliminate doggy smells. I almost never have dog smells in my house, but the past few weeks, not sure if it’s the “heavier air” or what, but I’ve been smelling the dogs in their room. When I saw this on Amazon I was reminded of Hudson’s stinky (from chili) refrigerator this past weekend in Nashville. Then, I saw the reviews and people spoke of it’s many uses. I purchased, put in our guest bath, where we still have remnants of skunk, and THE SMELL IS GONE. GONE. I don’t like covering up smells, I like eliminating them and this thing works!  Now, it says it lasts 10 years. WHAT??? Obviously the jury is still out on that, but if this really works, why aren’t more people talking about this??   2) LED Flameless Candles My latest obsession! I have ha...

Remember Me? Friday Faves

Image
It’s been a few weeks, and today is Saturday, but I do have some Friday Faves. 1) Intercept Pinot Noir I have been loving this wine lately. I’ve only gotten it through our Club, but I see it’s at Total Wine and very reasonably priced. I’m excited about that! It’s called Intercept because of Charles Woodson, the football player. I thought that was kind of cool. I have only had the Pinot Noir, but he does have a Red Blend and a Cab it seems. 2) White Glitter Nails I feel quite festive with my white glitter nails for Christmas.  3) Glitter Christmas Tree Picks I have had these Picks for a long time. They are the simplest way to make the tree fabulous! I love love love them! 4) Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer It’s that time of year again. Time to break out the in-shower moisturizer. I love it during the cold months! Have a great weekend! I’m in Nashville visiting with Hudson.

Friday Faves

My biggest Fave this week is cold weather. I love cold weather! Could do without the rain though. 1) Downy Rinse & Refresh This is a new find for me. I am SUPER particular about my house smelling good. People always comment that the house smells so good, so I do NOT want even a hint of dog smell. I washed all of the dogs’ blankets in this stuff and they smell so good! Can’t wait to try it on sweaty workout or golf clothes. 2) Velvet Pumpkins I typically do not decorate for “Fall”. I like decorating for Halloween and Christmas. Not crazy about pumpkins and leaves.  However, this year I bought a bunch of little velvet pumpkins an have them displayed on my dining table, kitchen island, and coffee table. I kinda love them! 3) Mr. Clean Magic Eraser I do not really know what is in this thing, but it is magic! Cleans my white walls every time! 4) L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara This is an oldie but a goodie. I have tried all the expensive mascaras and always come back to this. It’s...

It’s Friday, so time for some Faves! 1) Fave Fall Top I snagged this top from Tee for the Soul. I love it! It’s perfect for fall! 2) Maui Jim Sunglasses I got these on my recent trip to Hawaii. Although I didn’t go to Maui, I still felt like these were an appropriate souvenir. Plus, I love them!  3) NYX Lip Liner This lip liner is so cheap, like $5 cheap. I love the Nude Pink, it’s perfect with a gloss over it. 4) Rechargeable Lamp Still loving this little lamp for middle of the night bathroom trips or when we are having dinner on the patio. Heading to the lake this weekend with friends. Hope y’all are doing something fun!

Here are my Faves for this week: 1) Black & White Checked Blanket I bought these on a whim and I love them! They are so soft, and I have gotten several compliments on them. 2) GE Profile Nugget Ice Maker I miss this thing when I’m traveling! I do find I drink a lot more water now that I have this. I’ve had it for over over a year and it still works great. 3) This Year Is Boo Sheet Cup Y’all know I love my Piper Lou cups. I had almost forgotten about my (Pandemic) Halloween cup. My Piper Lou cups, coupled with my nugget ice maker, and I’m staying well hydrated! 4) Luckiest Girl Alive This movie is on Netflix. I enjoyed it! My daughter Hayley said it was “different”, but she and I like different movies and books. I definitely think it’s worth a watch. Hope everyone has a great weekend and a Happy Halloween!

Friday Faves, better late than never!   1) Blue Blocker Readers I love that these came in a four pack! I now have them strategically placed, including a pair in my purse if I forget my regular glasses. The problem is that I have to remember that I now have a pair in my purse…the other night Walt and I had to share his glasses while looking at the menu and when we got back to the hotel I said: I’m so dumb. I had a pair of readers in my purse! 2) Sandals I got these from Target and I love them! I also have them in Orange. 3) The Watcher On Netflix I watched this whole series on the way back from Hawaii. It was good. It was listed as Horror (and also based on a true story) but I certainly didn’t get that vibe. It was a little creepy, but in a suspenseful way. I will say my friend Robyn would not like the way it ended. She knows what I’m talking about! 4) Artwork by Wis Gad This is a bit of a different Fave for me, but the artist is one of the boys I have known in Kenya since 2011. Whe...

Friday Faves Short and Sweet

Image
My iPad keyboard crapped out, it is NOT a Fave this week (I’ll review it later) so I will be short and sweet. 1) The Listening Room Cafe Located in Nashville, this was such a cool, unique experience. Highly recommend! 2) Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story On Netflix, I wouldn’t say “Fave” as much as creepy and interesting. Binged this on the plane to Hawaii. The first couple of episodes were almost disturbingly unbearable, but it kind of leveled off to tell the story after that. Kind of. 3) Creepy Tapping Burglar I love this guy. He lurks in my laundry room window and people constantly do a double take. 4) Compression Socks I bought these for our long flight to Hawaii. Walt’s dr said to be careful after Covid. He wore his and loved them! I took mine on the plane but didn’t put them on. Think I will on the way home. Have a great weekend! PS. I’m sad about my Baylor Bears…WVU always gives them fits. Aloha!

Friday Faves on Thursday

Image
Friday Faves on Thursday, as I will be out of town this weekend.    1) Crusty Baked Potatoes with Whipped Feta This recipe is yum! I found it online and my sweet hubby made it for our Grow Group Supper Club last Sunday. It was a hit! Walt did say it was a little labor intensive so maybe only on special occasions. We shall see… 2) Dry Brush for Face and Neck I got suckered, once again, from an IG ad, but I kinda love this thing. It’s a soft bristled brush that you use on your face and neck for gentle exfoliation and “lymphatic drainage”. Who knows?! My Dr son would probably say, “No, mom.” But I like it! I feel like it’s, at the very least, therapeutic. Ha, ha! It calms me. It’s self care. And maybe it is doing something? 3) Grandinroad Eyeballs Y’all know I love all of my Halloween decor, so expect to see it all month, then GONE for a year! I’ve had these eyeballs for a long time and always find fun ways to display them. This year they are being served up for dinner! My eye do...

Friday Faves time!   1) The Patient A series on Hulu, I’m not 100% sure I love, but I do love spending the time with Walt watching a show, and I love Steve Carrell.  The jury is still out, I’ll have to see how it progresses. 2)  Poison Ivy & Jasmine Potted Hands I got these from Grandinroad years ago for Halloween. They have been put into the “get rid of” stack many times because I just couldn’t find the right place for them. This year I tried them on the breakfast table and I kinda love it! They definitely will see another year! Ha, ha! 3) Faux Fern Potted Plant I am obsessed with faux plants, as they make them so realistic these days. Target makes some of the best I’ve seen! In the Texas heat I have incorporated many of them on the patio. I know some people are very against faux plants, but I love them since I struggle with real ones. My friend Cheryl and I always play this game when she comes to my house: real or faux? 4) Biossance Rose Oil I am still loving this! ...

Friday Faves are all about the people and the experiences this week. 1) Apollo LTD “Soul Worth Saving” I have been loving the Baylor University commercial during the Baylor games so I looked up the band in it. Apollo LTD shot the entire video of the featured song Run in Waco. While I like the song Run, I LOVE this song: Soul Worth Saving. Please please Google it and listen to it.  I love it!  It fills me with hope. 2) College Football Spirit Buttons Thanks to Etsy we are full of spirit around here!  Aren’t these buttons awesome?? 3) Richard Reese He became a star last week. Awesome game! He’s also been named Newcomer of the Week. He’s a freshman so I hope we see him for a long time to come! 4) Corinne & Hudson These two cuties are celebrating one year of dating today. So cute! I adore them both! Have a great weekend, and Beat A&M! (and Iowa State. And Missouri…)

Friday Faves for this week! 1) Jazzy J College Football Collars The collars have made their way back onto the dogs. You know what that means: College Football is here!! I’m so excited, but so anxious! 2) Ridiculousness Not my proudest moment admitting this is a Fave, but it totally is! I hadn’t watched it in years, started watching with Hudson during his Senior year of high school. He had mono and his tonsils out that year, so we watched a LOT of Ridiculousness and Cops.  When we were in our hotel in Copenhagen this past August, they didn’t have many channels to offer, but they did have MTV and Ridiculousness (and Catfish) are on a whole bunch.  It’s inappropriate at times, lots of times, but it’s so funny!  3) Kerastase Densifique Shampoo & Conditioner It’s supposed to be good for thin hair, and that’s still TBD, but I love the way it smells!  4) Pottery Barn Skeleton I’ve had this guy for 5+ years and I never tire of him. I’m happy to report he “got” Wal...

Time for the Faves! 1) Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Purse & Strap My favorite purses lately are from Pom Pom London. When I spotted this one on the website just before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, I bought it. I am so happy I did! In light of the Queen’s passing yesterday, I feel like I have a forever commemoration. I read about her life and timeline yesterday, and it is such a fascinating story. What an amazing woman! 2) Loving Adults Another one of my Netflix finds, I watched this movie on the way to Nashville last weekend. It’s Danish, so a little different, but I really liked it! Twists and turns for sure.  3) Oversized Connect Four Game While in Nashville, we went to the Ole Smoky Distillery.  They had many games in their outdoor area including Connect Four. I had so much fun playing with Hudson, and I discovered I’m rather good at it! Ha, ha! I’m embarrassed to admit, last Christmas I received a Baylor Bear version of this game for the patio. I really wanted it a...

Friday Faves attempting to come at you from the Admirals Club. It is packed in here so the wifi stinks! Headed to see my Dr. 1) Football Door Hanging I haven’t put this out in a couple of years, but I love it. It means College Football is finally here! 2) My Cutie Cute Yoga Instructor Mary Beth is such a blessing to me. (I hijacked her FB for the photo) She has been coming to my house once a week since March. She is so encouraging, and never makes me feel uncoordinated. Walt always says we choose what we spend money on, and I definitely choose her! If you want to try yoga, she’s your girl! 3) Let’s Be Friends Nail Color This color has become a staple for me. I love it! 4) My Footballs I look forward to bringing these back out every year. I’ve had them for probably 8+ years. Have a great Labor Day Weekend!  If there are any typos or grammatical mistakes, have grace, I’m in a hurry! Ha, ha!

Friday Faves

Image
I’m actually doing Friday Faves on Friday this week. In the morning. So timely! 1) Rechargeable Lamps This is a second appearance of rechargeable lamps in my Faves. My daughter, Hayley, housesat for us when we were out of town, and just before we left she made fun of this lamp in particular because it’s tiny. Well, well, she admitted she had to bite her tongue hard when our electricity went out for several hours and this tiny little lamp as well as other rechargeable lamps around the house came to her rescue! She and her boyfriend were walking around the house carrying these lamps like they were Scrooge or someone from Harry Potter (I can’t remember who they said). She said they were SO helpful that she felt bad making fun of them. Honestly, I don’t know that I would have thought to use them in a power outage, so good job Hayley! 2) Kobalt Cordless Blower This little blower my friend Cheryl suggested is wonderful to keep on my patio for touch ups every couple of days. Sometimes w...

Post Cruise Faves

Image
Since I had too much fun on my cruise to think about Faves, I missed two Fridays. I decided to do a post cruise Faves post. 1) Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line Since our first exposure to Regent, in 2016, an Alaskan Cruise with the family celebrating my stepfather’s 80th birthday, we will only cruise on Regent. This was our fourth Regent cruise, and we sailed on their newest ship, SS Splendor. For 12 days we were pampered and spoiled by the nicest people, met some fun new people/characters, and traveled to bucket list places: England, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden. I’m excited to say we have two more Regent Cruises planned! 2) Apple Air Tags I’m sure you’ve heard of these, my friend Stan recommended them to me back in February. A couple of months later I purchased a set of 4. I have three of them in suitcases and one of them on one of my dogs. It was so reassuring having them on this trip. From flight cancellations to the previous trouble London Heathrow had with lugga...

Friday Faves on Thursday?

Image
I know, I know, it’s only Thursday…but I’m leaving town (yes, I have housesitters) and I wanted to get these in! 1) Beats Fit Pro Wireless Earbuds These happened by accident for me. My son Hudson got some black ones for Christmas a couple of years ago. When I moved him to Nashville he indicated the charging case wouldn’t charge the right earbud. Since they are kind of expensive I ordered him a new charging case first. Then, on Amazon Prime Days they had a deal on these. Since he hadn’t tried the new charging case, I decided to purchase these in case the new case didn’t work for him. I wanted the purple ones, but settled on white because I didn’t think he’d want purple.  Apparently his new charging case works, and I am the proud owner of these babies. They are awesome and work so well with my Peloton! Hudson loves them too and I know why! 2) Waxing the City I guess this happened by accident too. I’ve only ever gone to one girl to get my brows waxed (and I only started waxing ...

Friday Faves (I almost forgot!)

Image
I have been busy today and almost forgot about my Faves. Not sure if I’ll be doing my Faves for the next couple of weeks because I’ll be out of town, but I may try.  Maybe I’ll do another “travel” edition. 1) Bright Pink Watchband I have been loving hot pink this summer. I think the color goes well with my skin tone so I’ve been scooping up all the hot pink things. This color is amazing and it’s a sturdy watchband that doesn’t get on my nerves. 2) Revive Health Women’s Supplements I have showed these before, but I got a great report from my nail guy last time (he’s the one that suggested these) so they moved up on the Faves’ list. I truly have noticed a difference in my nails and quite possibly my hair. 3) Rodan+Fields Recharge Skincare Set I used to use their Redefine line, but it became too harsh for my skin. So I went to a different skincare brand. After reading about Recharge I decided to give it a try. Even though it seems to be geared toward younger adults, I read lots...

Friday Faves

Image
It’s Friday! Let’s look at my Faves: 1) Sleeveless Ruffle Top This top has been on repeat this summer. I know, sometimes we shouldn’t wear sleeveless at our age, but this one is somewhat flattering, and VERY necessary!   2) Anti Blue Light Tempered Glass Screen Protector Thank you, Vicki Dearing (and granddaughter Avery)! Vicki was telling me her dr recommended something anti blue light for her iPad. Avery to her rescue! I’ve always heard of blue light glasses, but I wear glasses and didn’t want to add blue light blocker or have a separate pair for iPad use. After Vicki told me what Avery got her, I did some research and found this. I’m HOPEFUL it’s helping! I do worry about my eye health as I age. 3) Beautycounter Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream I could put this on my Faves’ list every single week. It is my favorite beauty product ever! I use it every night and I love the way it makes my skin feel. 4) Moss Rose While not actually blooming at the time of this photo, my ...

Fancy meeting you here! I feel like it was just yesterday (errr, the day before) that I was posting Faves. 1) BuDhaGirl All Weather Bangles I first discovered these when a friend of mine wore the gold ones to the beach. I own the gold ones, and I love gold jewelry, but never really liked them on me. So I got a silver set and let me tell you, they have been to both the Bahamas and Cabo this year! I love them! Just needed to find the right color for me. I’ve been trying to up my bracelet game, and was able to wear these all day in the pool last week. 2) Dior Airflash Spray Foundation My niece, Martha, turned me onto this. It’s weird at first because you spray it on a brush, then brush it on. The only thing I don’t love, I have to be careful not to get too crazy while spraying because I don’t want the foundation to get on anything else. Placing a Kleenex in the sink and spraying over it seems to do the trick. I don’t wear foundation everyday, but I am loving this when I do. 3) Bioes...

Out of Office on Friday, so Faves on Wednesday (and Friday) this Week

Image
I just got home last night from a wonderful girls’ trip to Cabo. I was having too much fun on Friday to do my Faves, so you get two in one week this week. 1) The Terminal List We just finished this last night. I really liked it because I knew it was something that Walt would really like.  You know, shoot ‘em up and all that, ha, ha! I actually would highly recommend it. (Prime Video) 2) Affresh Coffee Maker Cleaner I thoroughly cleaned out my Keurig this morning after my friend was telling me a story of finding worms 🤢 in the water of her Keurig. The water had been left standing while she was away on a trip, and we use ours everyday, but still. It needs to be thoroughly cleaned ever so often, and I felt like today was the day! My friend Cynthia told me about this cleaner awhile back, I ordered it and had used it before, I really like it. Thanks CJ! 3) O’Bright   Portable LED Table Lamp An IG account I follow, @rustandtrust, used this lamp on his “balcony bar” in h...

Friday Faves from Nashville

Image
Been making a lot of trips to Nashville lately.  Three trips in June, but I think I finally have Hudson in good shape to start his life and career here. And, its a good thing, because today is the day it all starts! 1) You Don’t Know Me This limited series on Netflix was really good! It is set in England, but their accents are different from a lot of English accents. If you are a Peloton rider, think Hannah Frankson over Ben Aldis. I loved it when they would say “innit” for “isn’t it”. Anyway, the show itself was quite entertaining. Twists and turns, but I sort of, not completely, figured out the ending. 2) Pureology Instant Levitation Mist This was a sneaky little find on the Pureology website for me. I don’t like mousse for volume, but volume is hard to come by with my hair. This stuff does the trick! You spray it on while your hair is wet (at the roots) and it doesn’t dry stiff or crunchy.  I am loving it! 3) Travel Backpack I am always on the hunt for the perfect ba...

Friday Faves

Image
Last week I was in the Bahamas for the Interstate Battery Convention ‘22 so I didn’t do Faves. I thought about it later and should have let my daughter Hayley or one of my friends write a post about their Faves. Next time! I’m currently in Nashville, but Walt and Hudson are off playing golf so I decided to post my Faves real quick. 1)  Soleil Toujours Sunscreen I received this in a gift basket in April. I normally don’t care for spray sunscreens, but this one is really good. It has a nice consistency. It’s kind of hard to find, but worth it if you can! 2) Danny Gokey I posted about him last weekend, but he truly is an amazing person. He was so kind when I met him, he has an amazing testimony and outlook on life through the lens of faith. His voice is amazing, and his stage presence just makes you smile! Way to go, birthday buddy! Yes, I said amazing three times, but all are warranted. 3) Hold Tight This is a limited series on Netflix. It’s set in Poland (and the neighborhood...

Friday Faves (Nashville Style)

Image
This week’s Faves all have to do with my recent trip to Nashville. I just got home last night. 1) Anatomy of a Scandal I downloaded this on a whim to watch while on the plane to and from Nashville. It is SO good!! I haven’t looked it up, but I’m almost certain there will be a season 2. Highly recommend this! (It’s on Netflix) 2) Chicken Salad Chick I was first introduced to CSC by Hudson while he was at Auburn. This was even before they had them in Texas. Sooooooo good! I love Chicken Salad and I love Pimento Cheese. One year I asked my friend Kim to give me this for my birthday because she lives closer to it than I do. While in Nashville, Hudson and I had this for lunch one day. Yum! 3) Upholstered Platform Bed I was in Nashville to move Hudson into his new apartment. Nashville will be his home for the next 5-7 years. He needed a new bed and we were on a specific timeline so I found this one on Wayfair, read the reviews and took a chance on it. It was a WIN! It’s very sturdy (th...

Fast Friday Faves

Image
Doing the Faves quickly today as I am technically on vacation. We are in Longview visiting our dear dear college friends and Walt is playing in a golf tournament. 1) My friend Cheryl I’m kind of obsessed with all things Cheryl (and my birthday boy Walty)! She and her husband Stan are our college buddies. They live in Longview and as you can see, she is a great hostess and they have a wonderful home and I just love being here. 2) Mexican Tuna from Nanny Goats There is a restaurant/store in Longview called Nanny Goats.  I love love love their Pimento Cheese (Cheryl treated me to last year) and this year, because I’m on a tuna fish kick she got me some Mexican Tuna.  I am a fan! It’s so good! 3) The BEST Back Porch Ever I love their back porch. It is my favorite. It is so peaceful and comfortable.  I get “porch envy” every time I am here. 4) Random Napkin Gift Idea Cheryl was so excited to show this to me, saying: I thought maybe this might make your Faves!  And ...

Friday Faves

It’s time for this week’s Friday Faves: 1) Yoga Bamboo Root Board I have been doing yoga upstairs in my carpeted gameroom and my yoga instructor said it’s easier on your ankles to be on a sturdier surface than carpet. So, I went on a hunt and found this board. I put it in the gameroom and put my yoga mat on top of it, and she was right! My ankles feel a lot better! I do feel more stable. I thought carpet was the soft cushy way to go, but a hard surface is better. 2) Womaness Neck and Décolleté Serum I debated posting about this.  I love the product (another IG ad). It’s done wonders for my neck, but this website is apparently for “mature” women and it does have a few risqué products…🙃 I went there specifically for this product advertised on IG. I really like this specific product.  3) Kinsley Armelle Stack Bracelet Set I like bracelet sets and I wear a lot of black and gold. This set does not disappoint. 4) My Broccoli I have perfected broccoli. 😂 Whether it’s in the ...

Friday Faves

Here is what I am loving this week: 1) Hayley’s Egg Bake My daughter, Hayley, took over the Egg Bake duties when my mom got sick and has continued it on since her passing. So, I’m now calling it Hayley’s Egg Bake. She and her boyfriend made brunch on Mother’s Day and the egg bake stole the show! Such a sweet gesture and so yummy! 😋  2) Toilet Paper/Phone Holder Y’all can laugh or if y’all come over and use the bathroom, y’all can thank me! This is in our guest bathroom, the bathroom everyone uses when they come over. These days, who doesn’t take their phone with them to the bathroom? I thought this was a good idea, and I think it gets used often. And, I think the gold kinda classes it up a little 😉 3) That’s What She Said & I Should Have Known That These are both such fun games! We played them with friends on Saturday and they did not disappoint. Just in case you were wondering, I won That’s What She Said (I tell y’all I’m funny!) and Walt won I Should Have Known That ...

Friday (the 13th) Faves

Image
Perhaps I should have done a Friday the 13th theme this week…but these are my Faves and they aren’t scary. 1) Pom Pom London Cross Body Bag I am obsessed with these bags!  Of course I was enticed by an Instagram ad. I picked out the bag and got to choose two fun straps. It shipped quickly from London. It’s a super nice quality bag. I’m a fan! (I may or may not have purchased a second one in honor of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee…eek!) 2) Maui Jim Sunglasses I have done all the cute and trendy sunglasses, and these are not those. They are subtle in style, but look nice.  The real draw is how they function. They are so clear and I really feel like my eyes are protected when wearing them. They are also extremely comfortable.  I am loving them this Spring! 3) Acrylic Tray Bet you thought my Fave was going to be the skincare.  Nope, it’s actually the acrylic tray. It’s thick and looks high quality. I have 2 of these and I just love them. 4) Plastic Rocking Chair Yes...

Friday Faves

Image
Here we go!  I am really loving these things right now. 1) Piper Lou Water Cups I love these cups for drinking my water. I’ve amassed quite a collection. They come in many colors, but I like white because they match my house best 🤪 and I LOVE the sassy sayings! I fill one with ice and water before bed, and there’s still ice in the cup the next morning. 2) Coach Sandals I paid way too much for these (most of my shoes are under $100), but I just loved them! So, I splurged. If you see me around town, I’ll probably be in these to get my money’s worth! 😂 3) Revision Skincare Intellishade Original This is my go to tinted moisturizer for everyday. I don’t wear a lot of make up (at my age maybe I should) so this is great for everyday, and it has SPF in it.  4) Arlo Security Cameras After watching a recent story on the news, I decided I wanted security cameras. As luck would have it, my birthday was coming up so I got these for my birthday. As part of the gift (and because he ...

Friday Faves

Image
The week got away from me when I got home from Cabo, so no Faves last week. This is what I’m loving this week: 1) Black Windows We recently changed out our windows to black frames, inside and out. I love them! I have been wanting to do this forever. No one understood why, ha, ha, but now they see my vision! 2) Travel Backpack I carry a backpack when I travel. Because we travel so often I keep it packed with chargers and other miscellaneous items for travel. This one is actually a diaper bag, and I just took the pad out. I love backpacks for travel! I’m very picky. My mom refused to use them because they “looked tacky”, but they are safe, convenient and easier to schlep around than a big ol’ shoulder bag. 3) Aroma 360 This is a diffuser I keep in my entryway. I have a couple of variations of these. This one has a built in timing device. It has factory settings but apparently they can be changed? I don’t know, I thought it was broken when I first got it, but I leave it plugged in a...

Good Friday Faves

Image
It’s Good Friday today, so we know what Sunday brings: He Is Risen Indeed!  1) Mouthwash Dispenser I put these in all of our bathrooms because I had seen it in a friend’s vacation home. I didn’t think much of it. I have had several guests comment favorably about it and then, yesterday, while in Nashville with Hudson finding his apartment for the next year he said: I want that mouthwash and soap dispenser thing like you have in my bathroom at home. It is so cool and seems homey. Made me so happy to hear that! 2) Brazilian Joia Dry Shampoo Someone on IG recommended this. I’m not sure how great it works yet (I’ve only tried it once) but man it smells good!  That right there makes it worth it! 3) BNA Ball Cap I love my new BNA Ball Cap. BNA stands for Berryfield Nashville Airport. A lady I follow on IG who lives in Nashville has one, so when Hudson found out he would be in Nashville, I immediately got one!  In a coffee shop yesterday in Nashville, I saw a girl with a “Nash” c...

Faves-What do others love?

Image
So this week’s Faves will be a little different. Not only are they coming a bit early (as I will be out of town on Friday), but they are the items I received and gave at a Faves Party I attended Tuesday night.     1) SKURA Skrubby Sponges  These are the Faves of my friend Danna Rodman. They are a “cleaner” sponge and the print on the scrubby side goes away so you know when it’s time to replace. I’m excited to try these! 2) Vera Bradley Prayer Journal and FriXion Pens (the photo of Tom Rutledge is a bonus) These are the Faves of my friend Susan Rutledge. Susan has a bomb prayer journaling system that I’m excited to try! (Although I need a little more tutelage.) 3) Balega Socks These are the Faves of my friend Shannon Gunn. She said that all other socks she wears while walking are “quitters”, meaning they give up during the walk and start falling down.  I’m calling these the “never give up” socks and am excited to test them out. 4) Geometry House Dish Towels These are ...

Here we go again! Friday Faves are here, and they are not April Fool’s! 1) This top from Paisley Grace Boutique I have been wearing this top non stop since I got it.  It’s currently sold out, but I love this little online boutique. From time to time they have some really great tops! 2) Let’s Be Friends OPI Nail Color This is probably my favorite nail color. My tried and true. They make it in both dipping powder and gel as well as the normal nail polish. It’s white with a hint of pink, so my nails don’t look like Chiclets gum! 3) My Chicken Salad My chicken salad looks a bit different than a lot of chicken salads (and I’m a horrible photographer), but I love crunchy chunky chicken salad over a creamy mushy one. I made up a big bowl earlier this week and have been munching on it daily. 4) The Blend Radio Station on Sirius XM  Do not judge that Kenny Rogers/Sheena Easton happened to be on when this photo was taken. I was being responsible and taking the photo at a stop lig...

It’s time for the weekly installment of Friday Faves! 1) Amazon Echo Show This one is in my kitchen, but I have one in my bathroom too. While getting ready I can listen to a podcast, a TV show, music, whatever! I like the Show because it has a display and suggests things to ask her. I gave one to my stepfather for Christmas so he can see what’s happening, instead of just hoping he instructs her right. Have you ever seen the SNL skit of Alexa and the older generation? It’s so funny and accurate! 2) Black Shower We just had our bathroom redone, and I knew above anything else I wanted a black shower! I wasn’t going to let anyone talk me out of it. I love it!! Everyone else, even the nay sayers, love it too! 3) Firefly Aglow Gilded Fig Candle I purchased this on my recent trip to Dripping Springs and it smells SO good! I really like fig scents. Who knew? 4) LG Top Loading Washer and Dryer About 4-5 years ago, for my birthday, I asked for a top loading washer/dryer to replace my front...

Friday Faves

Yes, today is Thursday. Can you believe I’m posting Faves a day early? I will be “out of office” tomorrow as it’s Match Day for Hudson in Houston, and he has a full itinerary for us. No time for Faves, ha, ha!  1) Doberman Sandals Ha, ha, that’s what my friend Tom calls these shoes. They are Steve Madden and I got sucked into an IG ad, but I am SO glad I did. I love these shoes and get lots of comments and compliments on them. I’m about to order a second pair I think! Beware: If you slip them off and put your feet on top of them, it is kind of uncomfortable 🥴  2) Amazon Echo & Compatible Battery Base This is an Amazon Echo. It’s larger than the Echo Dot. It requires a specific battery base, and I love it! I know, I know, a lot of people don’t want Alexa spying on them, blah, blah. I love her! I have been looking for a solution of spontaneous music on our patio. This Echo lives on the battery base in my laundry room. When we go outside, I unplug it (the battery base...

It’s time for Friday Faves!  1) Peloton Yoga Really, I’d say the entire Peloton app is a Fave. While I do love riding the bike, there’s so much more you can do through the Peloton app. Yoga is my current favorite. My doctor told me I should do more yoga, that it was good for someone my age 🙄. After I apologized for slapping her silly (just kidding), I started trying to incorporate yoga into my week. I have a love/hate with yoga.  It is so challenging for me to do, but I feel so happy when I’ve done it. 2) Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer This stuff is a Fave every year about this time. I really only use it when the weather gets cold. I put this on right while I’m in the shower so I don’t have to get cold a second time putting lotion on after I’m out of the shower.  3) Napkin Pockets for Flatware I got to use these for the first time last weekend. Our friends came to dinner and the guy said, “What in the world is going on here?” I almost always use cloth napkins (whic...
