Week #52 Wednesday Faves the Final for 2018

Image
This was hard...I picked 12, to wrap up the year, but man, there were many more!   1) Lash Boost.  This stuff has been a game changer for my lashes.  I love this stuff! 2) Lumify Eye Drops.  Still love this stuff with my neon white eyes! 3) Can I Get a Connection? I still love this song and sing it at the top of my lungs! Every day!!!! 4) Toilet Bowl Light.  Y'all know I love this thing.  Every. Night. 5) Tresemme Hair Product.  This stuff I never want to be without. 6) Ice Cube/Dryer Hack.  This works awesome!  Although, I'll tell you my stepsister's husband was concerned it was rusting her dryer ??  I have had NO problems. 7) College Football Decor.  I get so excited to put these out every September and I get so sad every December when I have to take them down.  8) Have It All.  I LOVE this song!! This song has made me happy every single time! 9) Three Drops of Life Water...

Wednesday Faves Week #51

Only one more Wednesday in 2018 guys...can you believe it?? I'm out of town, but still have some Faves! 1) I'm not sure exactly what my Fave is here...I love mentoring, and I love my little's creativity.  I love that she wanted air dry clay for Christmas (as well as oranges and bananas).  She did a GREAT job on the Grinch from clay.  She is doing great! 2) My friend Donna gave me this mug for Christmas.  I sing this song (to the tune of Here Comes Santa Claus) frequently.  It is very me. 3) These eye drops.  They make your eyes almost neon white!  My eye doctor said not to use them everyday, but on special occasions.  They REALLY work! 4) My car!  She was in an accident and it took FOREVER to get her repaired.  She was hit by a girl going 30-35 and texting.  I got her back today and I'm not even in town to drive her!  Cannot wait! So, next week, I'm doing my 12 favorites of the year!  Stay tuned!...

Wednesday Faves the Big 5-0!

Wow, I can't believe we are at week #50 of 2018! 1) I saw this on Facebook last week and it cracked me up!  It is the truth!  Have you ever noticed how long the CVS receipts are?!   2) I'm diggin' my "Rose Sapphire" sparkly nails.  They make me feel quite festive! 3) I love our Grow Group, and we had the FUNNEST (yes, I'm committing to that word) Christmas Party last night.  It was on a party bus and we played games and made two stops.  We got to know each other and laughed until our sides hurt! 4) The lights at Vitruvian Park are amazing!  I could walk around there for hours.  Super festive! Christmas is getting close, can you feel it?  #happywednesday

Wednesday Faves Week #49

Image
I actually had my Faves uploaded Tuesday night, but lo and behold, yesterday just did not go as planned. Some days are just like that! But here we go: 1) My pink tennis shoes. I love these shoes.  They are comfortable and oh so cute! 2) College ornaments.  Every time I walk by these ornaments I just smile.  In the past I haven't really known how to display them, but I like this! 3) My dining room table.  A friend of mine asked me if I decorated the same way every Christmas. Generally, yes, I do.  One year I tried to move the tree to a different corner of our family room, and I almost had a mutiny on my hands! But sometimes I can't remember exactly what I did (like with the dining room table).  I literally just threw several things on the table for a centerpiece, and I just LOVE the way it turned out! 4) This. A friend of mine posted this on Facebook the other day, and I honestly just sat there and looked at it for a minute, and then start...

We are getting close, y'all.  It's almost the end of the year!  So I am getting in the Christmas spirit as a couple of my Faves reflect, but y'all, I am SO excited about one of my Faves this week!  So, let's get started... 1) These leggings.  I have discovered Calvin Klein leggings and I love them!  This is just one of my fun patterns.  They actually motivate me to work out.  Ha!  I like them because they are high waisted and thick and come in a lot of fun patterns.  They make me feel sassy (like I need a reason)! 2) Ice Cube in the Dryer hack.  Y'all this might rank up there in my Faves' Hall of Fame!  One day my brilliant son, Harrison, came over to do laundry.  He actually brought some clean wrinkled clothes over and put them in the dryer.  He then goes to my ice maker and grabs a handful of ice, hurling it into the dryer with his clothes.  I asked him, "What in the heck did you just do?" to which he exp...

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!  Today I'm slipping my Faves in between Pure Barre, moving my son into his new apartment, and cooking for tomorrow. 1) This tree.  Last weekend my husband and I visited our daughter in Austin.  We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel and they had this AMAZING tree in their lobby bar.  Loved the blue and green Edison bulbs.  My husband and I want to recreate this in our entryway!  That will be a conversation piece for sure! 2) iPhone Spacebar Hack.  I saw this on Facebook last week and couldn't wait to try it out.  It works!!  I love that I can finally get that little cursor where I want it now. 3) My new beanie.  I love that new beanie!  I wear it when walking to and from Pure Barre.  I feel so fancy and it keeps my ears warm.  (Yes, I wear it whether Auburn wins or loses.) 4) Thats All coffee mug.  I love these coffee mugs!  Everyone is raving over the Rae Dunn mugs la...

It's COLD y'all!  Are you loving it?  I know most of you aren't, but I actually am.  So let's get to my Faves for the week: 1) This nail color.  I am loving this nail color this week!  It's a silvery grey with sparkles.  I have received many compliments and it will be perfect for Christmas and New Year's.   2) The Haunting of Hill House.  I know we've kind of moved on from the Halloween season and into the feel good Thanksgiving/Christmas season, but I only recently finished this series and really enjoyed it!  I love scary shows, but I'm very picky about them.  This one was very well done.  Thank you for the recommendation, Lawrence and Hayley! 3) Notebook App.  I just discovered this app and I love it!  It syncs to all my devices and basically it is a series of Notebooks you create.  I have three right now: My Notebook (default, you are required to have this one), Records, and Purchase/Buy.  ...

Wednesday Faves Week #45

Happy Fall Y'all!  And Happy Faves!  1) Shout Stain Remover Wipes.  I love these things!  This past week I had to use them twice (it was clearly a messy week).  Somehow I got lip gloss on my shirt while getting ready and I tried just using water, but that didn't remove it, so I used one of these Shout wipes and voila'! Good as new! Then, I just flat out spilled red wine on my shoe, but it, too, is good as new! I always have these on hand.  Highly recommend! 2) Pumpkins.  I boldly proclaimed to my husband that "I hated pumpkins". We've been married for 30 years and he just found this out last week.  Then, I got out my Thanksgiving/Fall decor (I don't have much because I prefer the theatrics of Halloween and the festiveness of Christmas decor) and remembered these guys from Pottery Barn several years ago.  They are big, substantial and heavy, and I love them! 3) More Pumpkins.  We had a dinner party for some people from work...

Wednesday Faves Week #44 AND Halloween!!!

Image
Woo Hoo!  It's time for Wednesday Faves AND it's Halloween!  I won the prize for best costume in my Pure Barre class today.  I felt so special!  I'm pretty sure it was my blinking hat that put me over the top.  :) Love my Pure Barre community!  Now, it's time for my Faves: 1) Mug.  I love this mug!  Not only because it proclaims that I'm the best mom ever, but my daughter gave this to me a couple of years ago AND it's perfect for soup because it's very big!!  As a matter of fact, I like it better for soup than for coffee. 2) Funny.  This made me laugh out loud!  A blogger I follow, #momadvice, posts 10 funny things on Instagram on Tuesdays and some of them totally crack me up!  This is one of those. 3) Taco Bell Tacos.  Now, haters, don't comment on my post please, this is not about shaming.  I LOVE Taco Bell tacos.  I'm just telling you what MY Faves for the week are.  I don't need to ...

Wednesday Faves Week #43

Here we go...it's Wednesday! 1. These dog tags.  I love these cute little dog tags and they have come in handy more times than I can count.  I especially love Gemma's tag this week.  Some very nice ladies who were lunching at Palio's (and if you live in Coppell you know how crazy dangerous this is) to tell me that Gemma was visiting with them.  Gemma is my son's dog and if anything happened to her I would feel beyond terrible.  My dogs will never be without these tags. 2. Albums in Photos on my phone.  I have just recently discovered this feature, I know, I know...way behind the times.  It is so helpful for things like my donations, hair ideas, my book list (which people are always asking me about), etc.  I was always hunting for specific photos, but NO more! 3. Wet Skin Moisturizer.  It's that time again...when the weather gets chilly I prefer to moisturize while still in the warm shower.  This one is new this year and I'...

Wednesday Faves Week #42

Best laid plans, and then the day got away from me! When I don't do my Faves first thing in the morning, suddenly it's Thursday.   1) Political "season" is making me weary.  While I do love a Taco Bell taco, this cracks me up and sums it all up.  Just vote. 2) Our Grow Group Game Night was SO much fun!  We played a game called Crazy Bridge.  It was a really fun game.  I love this Grow Group Community.  So very thankful for them. 3) We went to Valley Creek Church with our son, Harrison, on Sunday.  Great church, great message!  They are in a sermon series called Abnormal and this past Sunday's message was called Speak Like Jesus.  When I got home, I listened to the first message in the series about wisdom.  Good stuff!  (Their website is super easy to navigate as well, I'll be listening to more sermons in the future) 4) Current mood.  This just cracked me up when I saw it. Happy Thursday!

Wednesday Faves Week #41

Image
Good morning!  Hope everyone is staying dry and safe.  I heard someone say that October is taking the place of April in terms of rain.  It is fine by me!  I was born in April and when growing up, I hated that it rained so much in my birthday month.  Time for my Faves: 1) Rodan & Fields Radiant Beauty.  Ok, so has your Facebook been flooded with R & F Consultants, many just back from convention, RAVING about the new products?  Mine sure has. I will admit that I thought: Oh goodness, they are definitely on a convention high and going a little overboard.  But, I tried this one and I honestly was amazed!  I'm not totally sure what it does, but I don't want to be without it.  Ever. I have been using it as my foundation even though it's a "dermacosmetic" so it's helping my face while I wear it.  A sidenote: After I apply it with that little brush, the brush still looks clean (not all make up gunky).  It's like voodo...

Wednesday Faves Week #40

Image
Ahhhhh, my favorite month of the year for decorating is here!  I love Halloween decor, love the drama, so you will most likely see a Halloween Fave each Wednesday this month.  Not really sorry about that...but, first things first. 1) Hello Fresh.  I know y'all are sick of hearing me say how much I love it, but I can't help it!  I really do!  Now that I'm in the Hello Fresh groove, the horizons have been expanded!  With Walt's travel/work schedule, I'll sometimes make a meal, eat it for dinner and then again for lunch.  Or I'll invite someone over (like one of my kids) to eat with me.  But, Walt is very excited when he is home for our Hello Fresh meals, and I'm even finding them to be a little easier now that I'm used to them.  I've about got my mom convinced to try them! 2) Clean Mascara Wand.  This may seem like a silly Fave, but hear me out! I got these back when I had eyelash extensions, and I've since ordered them on Amazo...

Wednesday Faves Week #39

Image
Good morning.  So, I'm going to be honest with you: I'm kind of cranky this morning.  This rain.  Where did it come from? I loaned my car to my son today and had plans to walk all over Coppell, to my Pure Barre class, and my hair appointment, etc. When it rains it pours (pun intended), as several other little annoyances seem to be knocking at my door.  I gotta get a grip and I definitely need to take my own advice and listen to #1 on repeat. Ironically, or maybe not, I picked my Faves yesterday, before my grumpy day and attitude began! 1) joy. I love this song by for King & Country.  When I listened to it for this blog entry, I watched the video.  It's pretty good too!  But, you need to listen to this song!  You may start dancing around like you are in The Greatest Showman (I actually had to go and check to be sure this song wasn't on the soundtrack), but hopefully, you'll listen to the words.  It's so simple: choose joy. Good stu...

Wednesday Faves Week #38

It's Faves' time!  Love these! 1) Lancome Chocolate Eyeliner.  For years and years I have used an Origins Eyeliner.  I used to keep many in stock at once so I would never run out.  Recently, Origins decided to reformulate their eyeliners and wouldn't relaunch for over a year.  What?! Why?! I must have tried 10 different eyeliners, most were too tough on my eyelids (I don't use liquid eyeliner) and finally I stumbled upon Lancome.  I love this eyeliner almost as much as my beloved Origins!  I may have found my new eyeliner.  Lancome, please do not discontinue!! 2) Market Street Classic Chicken Salad.  I had been craving this stuff, so Walt went and got some for me on Saturday.  It is my favorite Chicken Salad.  I went back yesterday to get some more for my lunches this week.  It is so yummy! 3) Lifetime Series called You.  My daughter, Hayley, told me about this one.  I actually had the book on my readin...

Wednesday Faves Week #37

It's Wednesday!  It's rainy!  Let's get right to it: 1) Liquid Sunshine.  Although I have been using my Three Drops of Life water bottle non stop, I decided this week was a good time to pull out this Liquid Sunshine cup.  It's bright colors make me happy on these rainy days!  I purchased it on a whim (I needed it like I need a hole in the head) while on my trip to Oregon.  I love it! 2) She's My Sweet Potato. I Yam.  I am obsessed with these shirts!  I think Walt and I need them in our lives.  I'm not sure we could rock them quite like these cuties do, but I would be willing to try.  Walt? 3) Meal prep.  I love meal prepping my lunches!  It makes me feel so accomplished and together.  When I meal prep lunches and don't have to think about what to eat I not only save money, but I eat better!  I also LOVE these containers.  They are glass with a plastic lid and the perfect size. 4) Flannel Room Sp...

Wednesday Faves Week #36

Got some Faves for ya, and a couple of them are free! I've heard I've been costing some of you some money, ha, ha!  Wish I was getting kickbacks from the stuff y'all buy, but alas, I am not.   1) The Last Thing I Told You.  I found this book by accident, or rather, while looking for something else. I thought it sounded good, and I was RIGHT!  It was very "psychological".  I could actually picture the characters when I read about them.  Great job, Emily! This might be my favorite book so far in 2018 (the one I'm currently reading sure isn't). 2) Finley snuggles.  I arrived home from Kauai at 5 am on Tuesday and lounged in the bed for the better part of the morning.  It may or may not have been prolonged by Miss Finley wanting a little extra TLC.  How can you resist this face? She truly thinks she's a lap dog, and my right leg truly was falling asleep! 3) I Feel Pretty. I watched this movie on the plane home from Kau...

Wednesday Faves Week #35

Image
So I'm SUPER excited about all of my Faves this week!  I love them. 1) This concept: I like you because, I love you despite.   Last week I was on the phone with my youngest, Hudson, and we were talking about when someone does something you don't agree with.  He said, "Oh, like that 'I like you because, I love you despite' thing?  You know mom, like you like me because we enjoy hanging out together, but you love me despite my argumentativeness or my temper."  It was like a light bulb went off in my head!  Especially with my adult children who are deciding what's right for them and I may not agree.  I still like so much about them, and of course I love them.  That's grace, y'all!   2) This Doozy app.   I have almost changed over completely to an electronic planner.  I was finding that I just wasn't using my paper planner because it wasn't convenient.  I always have my phone with me.  I began using a Google c...

Wednesday Faves Week #34

Image
Good morning!  What a week!  I so enjoyed my vacation this past week!  As a matter of fact, it's one of my faves, so I'll get right to it! 1) I love cruises!  And, I love Regent Cruises...they have spoiled me.  They are a little pricey, but I think don't think I'll ever cruise a different cruise line.  I am so happy the entire time I am on board.  I love sleeping at night with the boat rocking.  The food was fantastic, and cruising Alaska was beyond spectacular!  It was so beautiful and its the one place that I enjoy hearing it's history. Go figure. 2) I'm seriously digging my new laptop cover.  I like the way it feels, and it blends in with my decor (ha, ha, like that really matters) and I love it!  It looks like marble. 3) My friend Susan posted this on Facebook, a good friend of hers, Lori, sent it to her.  It's from a devotion book by Christine Caine.  I heard Christine speak at Gateway, and she is so in...

Wednesday "Still" Faves Week #33

Image
Since I am traveling this week and needed to write this post early, I decided to share with you some things I am still loving and highly recommend!  Every time I use or see these things I think, "I still love this!" 1) I love this little duo right here!  Lash Boost and UD Perversion mascara actually have people asking me if my lashes are real.  That never happened before the Lash Boost.  It really takes minimal effort to get good results! 2) I love my water bottle from Three Drops of Life.  It has made me so much more aware of when I'm drinking water, and how much I'm consuming.  My water intake has gone up tremendously. 3) Before I even get started on this one, I KNOW someone is going to make a comment about being up at 5:42 am.  Yes, it's true.  I was up around 4 actually.  And not too happy about it.  I love my Notes app on my phone!  Once I discovered I could make bold titles and lists with check off boxes, I was...

Wednesday Faves Week #32

Image
Good morning!  I woke up very early, but I had all of my Faves picked out yesterday so I decided to get them to you first thing! 1) I love this song, Have It All, by Jason Mraz.  I honestly don't think you can listen to it and not feel happy, feel your cares melt away, and put a spring in your step.  As a matter of fact, I watched the video and listened to the song just before writing this post, and I think I set the tone for a really good day!  If you haven't heard it, I encourage you to listen to it today and perhaps even watch the video.   2) I am blown away (no pun intended, ha, ha!) by this hair dryer.  I'm not going to lie, it is expensive!  A little back story: For several months I have been struggling with thinning hair.  I think things are turning around now, but I have been willing to spend more money on things for my hair to try and get things turned around. I had wanted to try the Dyson hair dryer everyone is raving abo...

Wednesday Faves (on Saturday, yikes) Week #31

Image
Yes, I know it's Saturday...it's been a busy busy week!  Better late than never.   1) Whitewater rafting in Oregon (well, it was really in Washington...) It was such a fun adventure!  Our guide was super nice, it was probably my favorite excursion on the trip. 2) My friend Leslie gave me these wine bags for traveling.  We took some wine to Oregon and they worked perfectly!  Thanks Leslie!  They are thin and bubble-wrappy so I was skeptical, but they worked great! 3) I have been trying to drink a ton of water lately and sometimes that just gets very blah.  I like this Mio flavor as a little pick me up in the afternoon.  It's my little treat.  (I like the ones without caffeine that I drink more of as well) 4) I love my Kindle Fire.  I can keep several books with me at all times.  I used to have an iPad, but I mainly only read books on it, occasionally searched the internet, and since I can do all of those thing...

Wednesday Faves Week #30

Image
Y'all thought I forgot, didn't you?  Admit it...I was just out of pocket most of the day, but I'm here now! 1) I love my Rodan & Fields Amp Roller and little Night Renewing Serum thingies.  They are probably my favorite two things in the Rodan & Fields Redefine line.  It's like I can't really explain what they do, but I can tell when I don't use them! 2) My new Fave find are these Apple Watch "bumpers".  I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but I love changing up the look of my watch daily.  I have a collection of watch bands (they are all fairly inexpensive) and now I can build up the face with these bumpers!  Mine are all made of metal (except the one black plastic Nike one) to give the watch a little dressier feel.  I love, love, love these! 3) I use these face wipes daily and I usually take them for granted. But, I tried many, many face wipes before I found these, and a lot of them left a funny residue on my face.  Some of them burn...

Wednesday Faves Week #29

Image
I'm pooped, as I've just returned from Houston, setting up my son's new apartment.  Some weeks my Faves just come easily, and this is one of those weeks.  My friend Vicki's husband, Bill, will be excited this week as my Faves will cost him little to no money!  (One day he told me to stop posting things that cost him money, ha, ha!) I think you'll like these if you give them a chance. 1) I think many of you saw the brick wall project I posted this weekend. I love this peel and stick wallpaper!  Awhile back I posted in my Faves a similar peel and stick brick wallpaper that I used in my closet.  I think I like this pattern even better.  I'm anxious to try the wood plank pattern somewhere as well.  So far both projects have stayed put! 2) We got this desk chair at Office Depot for Hudson's study area.  We had assembled a lot of furniture, lamps, etc. throughout the weekend.  When we were purchasing this chair Hudson asked the guy if we...

Wednesday Faves Week #28

Image
Yikes, I know it's Thursday, but this week has been CRAZY!  Yesterday was my baby's birthday, so he is my obvious Fave for the day.  Happy Birthday, Hudson!!  We move him to Houston this weekend to get him set up and ready to start Baylor College of Medicine later this month.  But, the rest of my Faves look something like this: 1) I loved riding ATVs in Cabo!  So much fun!  It's very stressful at times, but makes you feel very athletic, ha, ha, and it's beautiful scenery!  I highly recommend G-Force, the tour company we used. 2) I love, love, love this sunscreen.  I found it several years ago.  This year it seems like everyone is using it!  I love the way it smells and the way it goes on.  It's a keeper! I kinda can't wait til summer each year so I can use it! 3) I have been collecting these boxes for a couple of years from an airport gift shop (of all places) in Cabo!  I have yellow, green, blue and this ...
